This brings up so much from recent experiences with Lakota teachings and ceremony. I had the chance to go on a retreat with a Mentor trained with the Lakota and it brings up so much of my experience back. It also complements what he taught in certain aspects. Spirit guided me to listen to this podcast the first time a few days after I returned and I learned from it, the second time around, other insights I feel coming in again. Thank you both for bringing these to us! I might not be "home" yet but, I definitely feel on the way there.

Just sitting really became a breakthrough for me. After chasing every healing modality for decades, I finally came to rest in Vipassana, nondual, and shamatha practice. I've never felt freer. The mind is a delicious place to be now. Anyone that's interested, I highly recommend Michael Taft's teachings on deconstructing the self and his podcast with Future Thinkers.

I really respect Porangui's methods, but for many people, they may not be ideal. A lot of us have so much pain inside us already. All it takes is a turning towards it. The nervous system is very delicate in that it holds the residue of experience. These practices may not be beneficial for longevity or peace in the nervous system. They may be traumatic. The buddha explored both the path of indulgence and the path of asceticism. He found the middle way to be most conducive to awakening. There's a subtle retraining of the nervous system towards peace and joy. Balanced is the key.

Our mind is like a wild horse or like a startled crying infant. We can choose to break the horse or shout at the child, but the gentlest way is usually the most beneficial. We are very hyper-stimulated in this age and it is only increasing with time. To see clearly, we need the conceptual mind to settle. As long as there is constant stimulus, subconscious processing will be churning out concepts for you to consider. The presence that we all seek is just underneath those knotted layers. It watches with compassion, no judgement, and loves us fully. It is us.

I Really enjoyed listening to you guys, especially when u was talking about gender and feminine and masculine energy, as a GAY man I learned to understand booth of my energies and create certain balance and harmony between it. And I really feel that strong connection and energy with females because they don’t look at me as a predator, they don’t fear me and open up to me much more easier…. I really truly love females for their energy …. It’s so beautiful…. And Heterosexual man that can relate to this experience and Even create that environment for females is truly blessed …. 👏🏼 As you said, in the end of the day, physical gender doesn’t matter, we all have masculine and feminine energy… it’s up to us to accept boot and learn from it ❤️

I've held a lot of people in non sexual touch (11 years of bodywork). It is so powerful when touch doesn't come with a price or a bartering. So healing for women to experience that from a man. The "so what" technique is gonna be my new self talk. Brilliant.

Gold! Thank brothers for this real, transparent, deeply relatable conversation. Much love and gratitude. ‘So What?’ Will try that one. Inner critic been on overdrive far too long. And the Warrior who thinks I need operate in the extremes to really live. Learning to just be and welcome gentleness and kindness. That has been a ride. Big love from Oz. ❤

I very much resonated with what Aubrey said at the beginning about feeling the weight of his journey now that he's arrived at his destination. I look back at my own journey and marvel at the sheer amount of suffering. It's like I had to pass through the deepest darkest trenches of hell to be willing to shed the false belief in unworthiness that made heaven feel so foreign and unreachable except in some peak experiences. I'm looking back at the pain endured during my past initiations and feeling so much remorse for the inner child who had to experience that without the loving support that he deserved. I feel now that I no longer need to seek out discomfort and initiation, but rather learn to comfort and nurture myself as I softly and gently walk my highest path.

I had one terrible acid trip that created anxiety and paranoia Everytime I’d take it or even smoke weed and have tried to smoke every now and then but it gets to a point of that paranoia where life seems weird and I go insane then there’s this light and voices that sometimes call me and want me to come and I ascend towards it but get too scared thinking I’m gonna die and never go through it. Any luck on what this means.?

That’s where it became twisted. Woman where never meant to be prey or act like prey. You don’t prey on something that is equal to you that is part of you that is part of your life, tribe, team. Men have a high prey drive as all good hunters should but what happens when you catch the prey? You consume and devour. Does a wolf choose a mate that is prey? No a wolf chooses a mate that is strong, can lead the pack while he protects the rear, that can produce raise and teach strong pups that will continue his genes. Somewhere along the line woman became separated from men, we were put on another team and became prey.

Firstly define happiness, and secondly why does everyone think that they are able to experience a range of emotions yet only want the stuff that makes them feel good. Perhaps you best learn from the emotional states that you prefer not to have and ask yourself exactly what it is rather they trying to avoid it eradicate it medicate it. You feel shit and unhappy mostly because of the culture and because of the environment human relationships between white people a transactional disconnected and impoverished at the very best and far worse than that between men due to the never ending source of macho psychopathic go getting dopamine addicted freak role models we have to base ourselves on... Happiness that you understand it is always temporary like all the other emotions we feel but because we mostly working towards some absolute bullshit and other useless crappie concepts and stuff items etc we don't have the time to or are allowed to be humans.
