Auckland has some really beautiful stations. I like the colour theme too.

13:50 That'll be the 3rd main line for freight trains to use between Westfield/Ōtāhuhu and Wiri (where the Manukau branch is) so the up and down lines are free for passenger trains. There's plans in place for a 4th main reaching down all tne way from Westfield to Pukekohe for additional freight and regional trains as well 35:40 There was an old Auckland Railway Station when the eastern line/Westfield deviation was built, you actually pass the old platforms at 40:00 but u were looking out the wrong window

Wow, Auckland has some really nice railway stations, especially in the southern part of the city. Very swept-up and modern. Wellington has nothing like that. Our stations are quite primitive by comparison, although I suppose they have a sort of rustic charm. Where Wellington's railways have a clear edge over Auckland's, however, is in the scenery. Especially on the Johnsonville and Kapiti lines. Although the scenery in this video was kind of nice in that last section just before Britomart.

It's amazing how long it took for actual investment to be put into Auckland's network. Electrification should've happened decades ago. I'm very glad it's getting a decent amount of money spent on it now and I'm sure the CRL will be a game changer. I might have to book a flight and come check out the new tunnel when it opens. The stations remind me a bit of the new stations on Perth's airport line.

Compared to what it was like 15 years ago, it's changed dramatically and looks quite nice now

Aucks! 1:53 Right now it's West, South, East and Onehunga but that will change once CRL is open. 4:01 I think it might do a couple express services to Waitematā skipping Parnell. 4:14 Yes, it's the Western Line 4:52 Fun fact about the Northern Busway, it's designed so buses and emergency vehicles can use it now, but it's engineered so it's strong enough to take trains on it in the future. 5:53 Yeah since they were electrified later, they run on 25kV AC. 6:29 I actually saw some news just a few days ago that they will be getting some new trains soon-ish. 8:26 I like the bilingual announcements, haven't heard them before. 12:14 Maybe they did that so it's easy to upgrade in the future? Not exactly sure. 13:36 Fairly common with Te Reo Māori place names, etc. 22:08 Not yet...

I read somewhere 20 new trains being built in Mexico and being delivered from the end of this year

Yeah, Puhinui and some of the other stations of the eastern/southern line were future proofed for 4 tracks and platforms when they were redeveloped

The AM sounds magical, too bad you weren’t here for the ADL class DMU retirement in August, there were originally with Transperth, before moving to Auckland, it served it well, and it sounded great, but aster all it is some 60 years old now.

1. Exit for Hospital?!?! Is there only one hospital there? If there is more than one why is it not saying the name of the hospital? 2. That ticket gate at the terminal looks similar to some of HK’s old ticket gates.
@TransportofPerth5 ай бұрын
There are several hospitals but the name is the same at the station name so it's just like that even though it's pretty weird.
@shaungordon97374 ай бұрын
1) That station and hospital have the same name. There are several other hospitals in Auckland though
