I'm 60 and have been fortunate to see many ' grand' fireworks displays in my lifetime in many different countries . Come on, New Zealand, 5 months and 5 tons of pyrotechnics, that was particularly monotonous and boring! Perhaps you had budget constraints, even so it could have been way way better and far more spectacular. Boring!!

duneidn had laser lights. the cannon went off too earliy.. lotsa people didnt even hear it for the band playing. they seem to be more focused on chinese new years.

@@Joanne1974KiwiGirl Not to mention that the Sky Tower is literally owned by a casino. I can't believe that it took nearly half a year to prepare 5 minutes of a lame sparkler. Our handheld sparklers at home are more impressive haha

Well done for another pathetic effort, NZ! It seems no one was prepared to pay for music rights either, so all the world hears is Aucklanders yapping near the mic. Miserable. Sky News Australia didn't even bother showing our fireworks. Is there any point in watching TVNZ / traditional news when you can't be bothered to do a NYE countdown on tv? It's like TVNZ is trying to unalive itself.
