The perfect way to take out a smallish boat out through the surf, taking it easy, always right angles to the swell, looking for the sets to finish. He makes it look easy, but I can assure you that its not that easy and fraught with peril. The west coast is a different kettle of fish. Well done!!!! I have a lot of respect for the west coast, having surfed their for 20 years. Looks like its Muriwai Beach, up around Rimmers Rd

Very nice setup! And I don’t wear a life jacket unless I think my life is in danger! As for my daughter, she always wears hers! But as far as me, it’s my life and my decision! Just like a seatbelt in a car! The government doesn’t need to look out for me and my family!

We always wear life "jackets" launching off the beach or going through a bar. To dangerous to risk it and in the end its the skipper who gets charged if something goes bad.

Hey Finn, hard to tell but those sleeveless jackets we have on are life jackets with manual air blown into them.
