Just hit 12 years on my 2011 528i with no big issues and still going strong. Only major repair I have had to do on it was changing the radiator due to a leak but other than that the engine is great and still a smooth ride with me being the original owner.

That's a great motor and bulletproof transmission the ZF8. Stay on top of service and it will never let you down. I wouldn't be afraid of the 6 cylinder turbo. Requires more service but excellent motor. Of course no turbos is less maintenance. My cars are my children I would want to keep them all!

I love the N52. I have an E60 and an E90 with one- bulletproof indeed. The E90 is an 06 330i with 171k miles and the E60 an 07 530i with 113k. Both engines may as well be new. I’m not scared of the turbo motors but to be more frugal and low stress I gravitate toward N52s. The newer B58s are said to be as reliable as the older NA engines, if not better. Would love to get one at some point. I’ve rented them and they drive and sound amazing.

could you please tell me the major items that you had to replace in the last 208k miles? Oil filter housing? water pump? headliner? transmission fluid and filter? thanks

This is the most reliable bmw f10 you can get. After the 2011 the offered both engines with the turbo. The turbo 4 cylinder and the 535i are problematic. If you sale this let me know.

Best combo on the F10 imo, stout reliable I6 NA engine and smooth ZF8 it’ll run forever, with the wrong owner it would be toast though😢. Looking forward to selling my E90 for this

This one has been pretty good for us so far. Had it a few months now. Daily driven. On a long road trip in it now. Tires were badly outa wack and we had to have it rebalanced and realigned 3 times AND new tires. but so far so good now. We keep in this one a while

Not sure what the 5ers are like but the front windshield cowl on my 3 series crumbled and let in a bunch of water, it's a fairly easy job to replace it. The headlights get stress cracks on the inside, you have to replace them as a unit rather than just the lense. The little plastic piece on the shifter where it shows what gear you are in gets cracked and can cut your hands - it looks like the one on this car is in good shape. Not sure what the humming sound is but that's something to be addressed. A good clean up and you've got yourself a good one👍🏼

BMW are some great cars this was the first German import fell in loved with when a kid. When they get old parts are expensive on those cars but rather have a Lexus instead enjoy it more plus more reliable

@@JoesGoldenGarage Strangely the cup holders in its predecessor the E60 5-series are great. Strong and sturdy unlike the E39’s flimsy broken crap before it, and large enough for huge drinks. The current model G30 (right after this F10) also has great usable cup holders. I’ve rented a couple. Guess for this middle generation they went a bit backward.

Pros: n52 motor, f10 chassis Cons: first model year or f10, zf 8 is buggy, and the electronics can be hell to chase. They’re great cars and the interior bits are an improvement from e60 but the w212 makes the F10 look like a tinker toy.
