Hey Horse Lovers! The day we have ALL been eagerly waiting for is FINALLY here!!!! Belle gave birth to her MYSTERY FOAL!!! Let me tell you, Belle’s Foal is an absolute shocker and we are honestly so surprised! But she’s been full of astonishment so shouldn’t we have known?! This entire experience with Belle has been so magical and full of complete excitement! We are over the moon excited to welcome you our NEWEST member of Free Spirit Equestrian!
For more back story information: in February, I purchased Belle from an auction and well... we discovered she was pregnant about 4 weeks later following a wellness exam and quarantine! We were completely shocked but also very happy. This will be our first foal ever born at Free Spirit Farm. Here is a little background information: Belle is a 7-year-old Dapple Grey, Draft who is just under 16.2hh. IF YOU ENJOY MY CONTENT SUBSCRIBE!

I think all the horses gathering to await the foal, is one of THE sweetest things I've ever seen. It was so moving to me. It reminded me of the birth of Jesus in the stable, and all the animals gathered around to see. That was so touching, I'm still crying. There is a special aura of Love on your farm Sweetheart. They can smell it, it's herd instinct whether Belle has been pastured with them or not, it's a protective, instinctual measure, I too am a grandmother whose been riding her horses in the Colorado ROCKIES backcountry since I was 14 in the 70's, love the Boulder Valley but have ridden, packed in, camped all over, love the Sangre de Cristos, flanks of pikes peak, been all over my majestic state, The Yampa flat tops are spectacular ❤

Agreed 💯… thank you so much for setting a great example.. if you are familiar at all with what people are doing these days it’s absolutely heartbreaking! A prefect example is the most recent video posted by Raleigh Link.. where she reacts to a video posted where the interference by humans during foaling is absolutely insane.. and again heartbreaking. It’s so important to let horses be horses.. and respect that space and their bonding experience. You have set an amazing example as to how this experience should be handled. I will be recommending your channel to everyone I can! Please keep up the great work moving forward! Foals don’t need to be halter trained at 3 days old either!! Belle really trusts you Shae because they are usually pretty protective after the foaling. But she's being watchful, of course, she's letting you touch the foal all over. Great job Belle. It was probably better that you weren't there when she foaled. This way she was in her paddock and felt safe. Congratulations Shae; it is a really beautiful foal. @@jazihughey8161 Don't quote me on this but I think the darkness around the eyes is usually a clue that the foal will go grey? Honestly, all my knowledge about colour genes comes from playing a game but the artwork for Buckskin/Dunskin foals with grey genes looked strikingly similar to this foal. Most foals that will turn grey have very striking coats that are darker and more dramatic than their non-grey counterparts.

The foal’s coat, by the eyes, has these literally amazing dark “lashes”. I don’t think I have ever seen that. It looks like eye lashes. It has to be the cutest thing ever! Certainly the foal looks healthy and strong. So happy for them both. Best wishes!

There is a very high chance the goal will grey out. It has grey rings around its eyes. It's a tell tell sign of a grey coat.

Enjoyed your video. Stand, nurse, and poop within the time frame generally observed. Also, the mare has a conversation with the foal about humans and how nutty they can be. This conversation occurs within 24 hours, but only after the mare has softly comforted the foal again and again that the humans are not trying to hurt you.

Oh my heart!!!!! So happy for y’all! Baby is huge, strong and Gorgeous!! Nutrition and maternity care that you provided was TOP NOTCH and it shows in the foal and in Belles ability to have had a smooth birth and be so alert and attentive feeling so secure!!!! Belle is really someone special. She’s the type of mare that can make you fall in love. She just could NOT be cuter nuzzling her baby the way she does.💞 I am such a Belle groupie.
