excellent analysis of this sale, Ireceived the link etc and lot 692 is veery similar to aone Igot in a thrift store time ago ..othet lots see very high, but in general there are very unusual super coveted lots understand this sale is from 2 collections! .

With Asian weeks coming up for the rest of the year, I would like to remind all the fellow Americans, please don’t try to buy anything from the auctions in Hong Kong. For a Chinese painting scroll that can be easily rolled up for shipping, the local shippers quoted me 30,000 HKD for shipping costs! The painting was only worth less than 10,000 HKD. After I found out the problem, I stopped chasing it. Be careful, because when Chinese economy is going down, the local art shippers are determined to rip off their customers

I agree with this, it is strange why shipping for Hong Kong in particular is so expensive. I have shipped items from Australia to the US without a problem (and for very reasonable priceS), but shipping options from Hong Kong to the US are ridiculously overpriced.

The patination of the Tibetan bronze looks suspect, it doesn't look genuinely old. Its the sort of thing they can churn out in an Indian backyard, bury for a while and then rub over with a dirty rag - but I am no expert !
