The build quality is very good on the Audaz brand, high quality material and movements, with reasonable prices, but using the discount code if you sign up with their newsletter provides 30% off which is nice. Sometimes their inventory gets low, especially the orange dial & full lume dial versions. One of the best Micro-brands out there. I do wish they would start using a dual push button release clasp similar to seiko, they're bracelet releases are a little too difficult to open. They do have very good customer service and communication.

It's not only this model that is very heavy and tall.I saw all models on their web and every single dive watch is above 200 gram and over 15mm tall.They look beautiful but i have problems with the specs and the heaftinest of the watches.Great review as always and big tnx for the effort.I wish you all the best.....

Nice review of a handsome piece. Clasp issues easily resolved. Another hard-as-nails NH35 powered diver - a fascinating subcategory of watches.

Marathon MSAR is another watch similar to this, if you can review that watch would really appreciate it as am considering adding one to my collection. 💚

Fantastic review as usual; I enjoyed watching. Many positives and nice styling on this piece but I suspect it would live in my watch box to be admired rather than spend time on my wrist. A Canadian alternative with history to back it up is the lineup of Marathon dive watches. The MSAR models are my favourite so I am saving my pennies. Cheers.

Same here. I also just recommended this same watch before reading this comment. The MSAR is top of my list, with 36mm case and it's very militaristic/tool-like design. Love it!| GL on your saving up ;)

Hiya Pete! I noticed a small new twist to your review video, it's the way you summarize the positives and the negatives. It's great, simple and clear👍 As for this watch, love the 70's vibe of design! The appears to be of good quality. But I don't get it, white hands on a white backdrop? 🤔 And its a bit stubby, more than necessary imho. Cheers mate! 👍
@PeterKotsa3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree Alex, I think those hands should have been a no brainer in black or brushed finish. As for the bulk of the watch, surprisingly the entire casebook and underside tucks away under the wrist, so it wears like a vintage Seiko..say a Helmut or similar.. Cheers mate

I'm pretty sure part of the height is due to the T3 tubes on the hands - the stack sits higher than normal to make sure the hands clear one another. The watch is thicker than I like, but it's impossible to avoid on an NH35. As for the hands - black paint would be better but they have used the same set on the other dials. 30% discount makes the other colours quite attractive - pity there's no orange or yellow for Doxa fans but that light blue is a good option. Replacement clasps might be possible too. I kinda hope they do a second edition with a better clasp and an optional steel bezel insert. Nice review Peter.

Not bad, the tritium at 12 could do with being a different colour e.g. orange. If you like a chunky watch it looks like a good option.
@garycollard19812 жыл бұрын
Really like the general design of this, good looking watch. I think the point about the white hands on the white dial would mean a pass for me. I like to be able to see the time with a quick glance and from this video the watch has poor legibility in daylight. Looks brilliant in the dark though:)
@jimmymack10793 жыл бұрын
What I find interesting about this piece is the caseback engraving. The font style on the periphery and the image engraving is so typical of Ball watch. Combine that with the use of the tritium micro tubules and I really think they’ve used the same manufacturers.

Nice one, well done. I generally prefer pressed clasps for the fact that milled are double the thickness which can be super annoying using a laptop keyboard.

Glad to see companies doing something different than Submariner homages! However, the lack of grip on the bezel is a deal killer for me. A bezel should be usable, otherwise it's just decoration. Certainly not the only watch with bad grip, seems to have become an industry standard.

It's a skyscrapper on the wrist! Just kiddin' I would like to see you review one of Marathon watches. Mainly the Medium SAR. It comes in either Automatic or Quartz, it also uses Tritium. The Medium SAR is a 36mm case, they also have the Large SAR which is 41 and an even larger one.. but the 36mm would be really interesting to see.

Tritium does not glow. Tritium is radioactive isotope of Hydrogen, which decays into helium and beta rays, the latter having enough energy to ionize the lume compound, thus the relatively constant glow of the lume in absence of a light source. Hope this info helps.
@chrislee66913 жыл бұрын
Great review I can see the appeal of this watch, I love the color scheme and the lume is cool. As you point out the clasp is a huge let down especially the way they did the name on it, looks very cheap. Speaking of the name it also doesn’t look that great on the dial, it reminds me of the complaints that people have about Christopher ward watches, but worse because it just looks like a knock off of something. Unless a name is uniquely stylized it is far better to try to come up with a logo. Cool looking watch over all, just could have been better.

See a lot on groups posted by people from Asia, big presense in that market. Until this model they had very cheap looking dials and were always seen as a "value" brand with huge size and bright colours. This models a real step up for the brand I think

I understand that Tritium tubes will always be a bit taller, but 16mm is just too much. If, only they could have flattened it to ~15mm it would look much less like an anchor on wrist.

Nice review. And watch. But one thing puts me off. Wristwatch tradition dictates that the country of manufacture is printed on the dial and this watch could be from anywhere though we all know it's probably assembled in China or somewhere in the far East. I always check my food, wine, and even clothes purchases to inform myself of where my money is going and if that place of origin means the product is safe and reputable. I've stopped buying Nike, Adidas and Puma pumps (though I still wear them occasionally, what choice do I have ?) made with child labour in the sweat houses of Vietnam and Thailand and similarly I wouldn't buy a watch without that all important "Made in small print" - though obviously for not the same ethical reason but because it's a guarantee that those who make the watch stand behind their product. Swiss made, Made in Germany, Japan movement - whatever - it's a seal of approval.

On the path to a good looking watch, retro-modern, with contrasting red second's hand on a white or white off (because of luminova) dial, catchy. However I would have changed , looking for more contrast, the indices to a less marked ones and would have stressed the contrast on the minutes and hour hands making them darker, that would make it a conversation starter, very or more attractive. The bezel , again, standard , insipid; I dont think the grip would be an issue. On the contrary, it could be an issue if the application of the bezel was more practical. The bracelet very standard also; I think I would change it for a more enthusiastic band, playing with a better colored-designed hands. The movement: no surprises there; to keep it within a "decent" price for a microbrand watch. No attractiveness for the customer who enjoys accuracy and the proud it brings... the work on the back of the case is brought down by the movement inside.. So, only pluses on the case design , the application of luminova on the dial and the utilization of tritium.. btw, great dial conceptualization , it flowers in front of you.. love it!.. however.... Price = $585.00 - discounted = $409.50 - ... R&D absorption cost seems to be an issue.. hopefully the brand be able to absorb them...

For me a case back is just that a case back same some of the money spent on the case back and put it into the clasp. A good solid case back is all you need, when you wear it no one sees the back. you take it off at night and put it down, who sees it really.
