There are TONS of different portable jump starters out there. I chose the Audew based on: reviews, specs, and price. To me it seemed like the best deal without spending $100+.
So far it has left me very impressed so longevity is the last aspect to address.
I bought it for $65 in fall of 2020 however I see now they increased the price to $97...but I still think it’s worth the purchase!
Check it out:
Audew Upgraded Car Jump Starters, Jump Box 2000A Peak 20000mAh Battery Charger Automotive(up to All Gas and 8.5L Diesel), 12V Battery Booster with 3 Modes LED Flashlight and Dual QC USB Ports www.amazon.com...

After having a battery go dead on me, I purchased 2 of these for each of our cars. These are better than jumper cables because it's hard to screw it up, and you don't need to count on anyone for a jump start. These tiny little things are must-haves for all cars. Thanks for the great review of it!

I have no clue what I did wrong but mine wouldn't jump my small car.

I notice a lot of people on KZbin doing it wrong. Solid green light means your car is ready to start. Do not push the boost button. Only push the boost button if the green light is "blinking".
@4link4wd
@4link4wd 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the interest! I am sure different brands and models differ slightly but for this particular jumper, it will not supply power until you press the “boost” button. The green light only indicates correct polarity
@tulebox
@tulebox 3 жыл бұрын
@@4link4wd The green light has multiple meanings besides just polarity. These meanings are written on the side of the black connector, as well as in the instructions. I don't see a battery indicator level on your dash, but on my dash, when Audew is connected to a dead battery with a solid green light, the battery level indicator jumps up, so it is getting power without pushing the boost button.

@@tulebox Interesting, maybe I’ve been doing it wrong then! I swear I remember trying to start it and it didn’t do anything, and so I hit the button and it fired right up. But I’ll have to take another look at the instructions and experiment with it more. Thank you for the input

@@4link4wd I have a different brand booster/starter but the Audew might work the same way. On mine, when connected to a battery it must read at least 2 volts from the battery before the unit will supply power to the clamps. If the battery is less than 2v or is dead, then you have to push the boost button to supply power to the clamps. This is a safety feature so that the clamps cannot accidentally short circuit to each other when not connected to a battery. Once you push the boost button the clamps have voltage whether connected to a battery or not. If you have a voltmeter you can check this out for yourself. Probably something about that feature in your user booklet.

You can't just reset the boost button, you have to disconnect everything. It can take 3 to 4 disconnects and resets to start a dead battery especially on a big engine. Remember, you have to disconnect for at least 10 seconds then reconnect, press the boost button again and follow that sequence until it starts.

I bought the Audew 2000A about 14 months ago...it started out great, battery held a charge well. I used it around 6-8 times in that time. I went to jump start my lawn mower and now the lighted plug attachment no longer lights up or transfers power from the power bank. I contacted Audew and they told me it was outside of the warranty period...i'm left with a $100 power bank. I would advise to try another brand as the durability of the Audew seems to be lacking in my experience.

most people dont pay attention when they have low charge battery and then try to jump start with a jump starter battery. You need to make sure to close all the doors and turn off all accessories (blower fan, etc) to help direct all the power to the starter.

I’ve had my Audew 2000A since August 2020. I’ve probably used it roughly anywhere between 20 and 30 times and I’ve never had any issues with it. Used it mainly on a 06 350z and a 03 Jetta. Highly recommend it

Great video! Just to let you know, the first try on your Jeep, it was actually doing great! It was at 77% still. You could hear the starter trying to turn it over! Considering the car hasn't been started in a while, other than the fact that it was below freezing outside, that's why it didn't fire up. Those definitely made an impact. So when the battery pack went below 70%, at the 2nd try, made another difference. Because I learned that it should be at about 75% to start up a vehicle. Just to let everyone know. Again great video! thanks!

I’ve been looking for a jump starter for a long time and I don’t want to buy something that’s a waste of money. I have a 4.2 litre supercharged car will this start it with dead battery. I looked at, at least 10 reviews and this Auden always comes out on top. I live in the uk and the only side is it’s not sold in uk and it only comes with a US charger and would have to use and adaptor. Opinions please.

I returned mine. Reason? I tried to connect to 3 different batteries and could not connect them. The issue was the opened jaws of the clamp to attach on both sides of the terminals are very wide. The clamps are huge and in many cases there is little room around the + terminal to get that clamp to open up and grasp the terminal. I did have an older Cobra model with very tiny clamps that were able to attach. Another issue with most is that the cables are very short which means many times you cannot reach the negative terminal. I know you can attach it to any metal instead, but sometimes that is not an option with the short length.
@alanluckystripesb3706
@alanluckystripesb3706 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not an auto electrician but I believe the reason the leads are so short is to limit the amount of dropped power travelling to the terminals. As far as the clips are concerned it may be possible to find a clip to fit the battery terminals then attach the booster to those? I have only tried mine on a 2litre diesel car and a 2.5 diesel suv which have standard 12v battery posts and have had no trouble in connecting. The starter battery has not failed to start the engine even with the battery on the 2litre being completely discharged without enough to power the interior light.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Every time I end up with a GREEN battery, it dies a premature death...I've had motorcycle batteries 7 months old... warranty is 6 months...go figure...last one OPENED UP INTERNALLY.... acid dip showed 100% SG on all cells, but wouldn't crank the bike. A "Forensic study" (Cut the top of the battery off to inspect) revealed "spot welded" lead cross-over (joining) tabs between cells that simply "break", producing an open circuit. I really want o support American companies... But do the math - Interstate for my bike(s) - $99 with 6 month warranty for AGM - broke in 7 months... APEX BATTERY (China) AGM $29.99 (still under ~ $50 with shipping) - 1 year warranty. I have one in my King Quad that I purchased in 2012....This is 2021....still cranks right up, and I don't even bring it inside in the winter... I've NEVER had luck with Interstate batteries. Neither has my Dad back into the '90s. Perhaps prior to that, they were good? At least they've been consistent....(junk).
