I hate how these companies are allowed to lie about the battery capacity of their devices. It's not just jump starters that do this. Just about anything with a battery will have an inaccurate capacity listed. Thank you for your review. Letting us all know which ones are actually good is amazing! All your videos are great!
@BigVictor Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure they're actually allowed to lie, it's just no one bothers catching them, and the consequences are minimal. Can't expect Amazon or Walmart to check the quality of the products they sell, right? I mean, do you know how difficult, and expensive it is to check a product's claims? You'd probably need a whole lab, just for battery testing! Perhaps even a team of engineers, with a dedicated support staff! It's not like any guy on a farm could perform an accurate, repeatedly test to accurately measure manufacturer claims... Wouldn't that be neat, though?

I remember when a jump box was the size of a suitcase, weighed as much as a blind date, worked twice when it was tested but not needed, and left you stranded when it was needed.. This is (perhaps) the most important item you test and watching the improvements made year after year is very interesting. A combination of actual data comparing spec's to mfg. claims and real world testing is why 3 MILLION of us value the info we get from this channel.. A couple weeks ago, you asked our opinion about the direction you should go... I still remain solid that straight ahead is the direction you should go.. these re-visit's shows how fast technology progresses.. The super cap. unit in today's test is a perfect example of that.. Maybe next year there will be 2 or 3 such units and the price will come down.. THAT IS WHY WE KEEP WATCHING!!!!

@@teamja1088 I had 3 or 4 of the old style jobbys.. I think I tried to get a stranded started started maybe a half dozen times and NEVER was successful with them. They all had a 7 or 8 Ah gel-cell'.. Gel-cell's aren't typically known as "high drain" and the charging circuits were minimal. I've had my Gooloo 4000 for a few years, I bought based on test results from this channel, it's one of the best tools I've ever bought. I've used it multiple times on vehicles up to 4.7 L, and it starts them every time, even after it's been sitting under my seat for a year. I also use it as a power bank when camping, and with the 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter, I can plug my air pump in it to inflate an air mattress. I think with the power, cost, and small physical size the Gooloo is an excellent choice. The Noco looks like a beast, but it's much more money and obviously takes up a lot more room.

A few reasons I like the jump start battery over the cables (which I also carry): 1. You can self-rescue. No wandering around, asking for a stranger to help. 2. You can help others and you don't have to position your car in weird spots. 3. When you do help someone, you don't have to connect your car to someone else's janky mess. If they have something wrong with their electrical system, you don't want to mess up your ride. 4. They're great for emergency charging of cell phones. If you get stranded somewhere, most of those chargers will keep your phone topped up for days.

I've done roadside assistance for almost 12 years and have used over 10 different boxes. Most were the bigger jumpbox es Jnc 660, 770,Schumacher 2200 etc.. My favorite has been the Gooloo 4000 by far. I've jumped a minimum of 500 cars with it and it's still as strong as ever. I bought a second one just because of the price. I haven't tried the Noco because of the price but alot of techs love them as well.

@devonsstemcells1442 Жыл бұрын
@@jacobmanalang8162 if you are doing roadside assistance as a job. You definitely need a bigger box like the jnc660 because the Gooloo will only stay on around 10 seconds and sometimes that alternator don't kick on so the bigger boxes help in those situations . Plus I've hooked one up to the battery for a customer and followed them to a AutoZone to get a battery. Luckily it was a charger so the battery was in the trunk so I could leave the jump box connected

So far I've purchased 3 winners from your videos, started with the Audew which did great on almost any gas motor, then went up to the Gooloo 4000 which is a great jumper even for some diesels but struggled on my medium duty freightliner. Most recently I got the Lokithor, which really impressed me when it cranked over a dead 18 wheeler for 6 - 8 seconds. Each time I upgrade, the older jump starter gets handed down to my wife or someone else in the family. If i can find it at the right price I'm considering picking up the super capacitor to keep at the shop now for our Medium duty trucks. Side note, I was looking at synthetic winch ropes to upgrade the steel cable on my wifes new ATV, choices range from very expensive WARN brand cable, to very reasonable Amazon & Harbor freight offerings, would be great if somebody put out a test video on 1/4" synthetic winch ropes 🙂
