After 2 years has your enjoyment waned? I’m about to pull the trigger on these and would love an update on your experience. Unfortunately I do not live anywhere to listen to these prior to purchase, so your review has been instrumental in my decision. Thanks for your content - always a pleasure.

Hi, yes I still like it for what it is. Like all Audeze products it’s definitely overpriced, but still an enjoyable listen. If you don’t mind the sibilance, or you think you can EQ, then it might work out for you.

Congrats on another amazing video. Your descriptions are spot on! Subscribed! I have an LCD 2 closed back, coming in a few days. Currently I have the audio gd r2r 11. At 70ohms it outputs approximately 1500 milliwatts. Do you think it will power the headphones adequately? Also wanted you to confirm that on the high notes the LCD2 closed, is smooth and not piercing! I am quite sensitive to excessive high frequency sound! Thanks for your time. Looking forward to many new videos from you!

Hi, thanks for subscribing. The Audeze headphones are very easy to drive, and the R2R 11 is plenty powerful. Yes, the treble is fairly smooth, which is Audeze's house style. There's still detail in treble and good extension, but it's doubtful you'll feel uncomfortable--unless, of course, you have exceedingly harsh recordings.

I tend to give my cans personas. LCD2CB is the stoner; sweet, laid back and enjoying the moment with no worries. Of all the HPs I own (a number between 12 and 18, I lost count), they are the only ones that evoke the word "sweet" in my mind. Too bad they are scalp-irritating neck-breakers. I've been thinking about selling them since I hardly use them. I'm also thinking about selling the "librarian" (Ether CX). Comfy and reliable, but too serious for me to enjoy.
@NoThemeReviews4 жыл бұрын
Lol. The CX isn’t the sexy librarian?
@7MAD-OLAMBA4 жыл бұрын
@@NoThemeReviews lol you just unlocked the female persona. I was subconsciously considering male personas only because the first two I came up with were first hand experiences. When I put on the LCD2CB (the stoner), I just relax in my couch, forget everything, enjoy the moment, and loose track of time. When I put on the T5p Gen2 (the tweaker\partier), I can't help but get up and keep busting moves until I run out of breath. Back to the sexy librarian, I think it's a trickier persona with often underlying issues. If it's not a trap, then it should be a hit and run, but never a keeper. First thing that came to my mind is HifiMan.

@@NoThemeReviews Since female personas (from a guy's perspective) are now in, I looked at both my Focal Clear and Elegia sitting to each other on my desk and tadaaaa! Clear is that beautiful and classy girl that I can't get my eyes/hands off her. A real keeper. Elegia is Clear's younger sister. She is not as attractive as her big sister, but still there is something about her that turns me on.

Bismillah I like your reviews and the amount of depth you go into. Thank you. How would you compare these the nightowls - they seem by your standards to have a similar sound signature?
@NoThemeReviews5 жыл бұрын
Not quite. I think the Nightowl has slightly muddier bass and less separation of vocalists. These have very similar soundstage and treble response (not harsh or aggressive).
@VijayMohan5 жыл бұрын
I returned my focal Elegia recently although I loved the sound because of the tight head clamp. The weight was ok. So, in terms of sound quality similar to Elegia which one would you pick - the audeze or the denon? I am down to these two headphones now. I don’t really like laid back sound, I have compared the old audeze el-8 with the Elegia and preferred the Elegia, hence the question.
@NoThemeReviews5 жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard the Elegia but have heard the Stellia, which was purportedly designed to mimic the Elegia’s sound. I think the LCD-3 is probably very close to the Focals. The Denon D9200 is a close contender but not quite the same detail retrieval as with the LCD-3 or Stellia

No Theme Reviews Thanks! But I am looking for a sub $1000 headphones which is also a closed back. Any recommendations? Denon 7200? Audeze LCD2 closes back.

No Theme Reviews can you please reply to my question please?
@NoThemeReviews5 жыл бұрын
I don't think the LCD2 is going to give the type of sound you described. The Denon D7200 is closer in that regard. The LCD2 has less treble energy, and just a hair less detailed. The LCD3 vs the D7200--then I think the LCD3 edges out the D7200 with slight better separation, cleaner treble without harshness, and a tight but not boomy bass response. I think overall, however, the XC would be my recommendation. Very tight and impactful bass while still have excellent separation and detail. Though, it can become a little sibilant depending on the type of music you listen to.

How do these compare to the Atticus in your opinion which do you prefer?
@NoThemeReviews5 жыл бұрын
The Atticus is a totally different beast. The LCD-2 is much more relaxed. The Atticus has a significantly more visceral response--capable of peakiness in the higher frequencies, tremendously punchy bass, and the mids are a little bumped, in my experience. The Atticus is fun. It's like the sports car you take out on the weekend. The LCD-2 is more the relaxed sedan with great suspension and a smooth drive. I like both. However, if I want to hear punchy drums and vocals, I'd turn to the Atticus. If I want a relaxed, detailed experience, then the LCD-2.

Hi! Are these worth $550 used in today's market?

“Worth” is subjective. If you like their sound and fit, then sure.

@@NoThemeReviews I just sold my Sundaras so looking for something with a similar sound or an upgrade. Will these be an upgrade?
@NoThemeReviews2 жыл бұрын
@@kjg_95 They don’t sound alike. I can’t tell you if it’s an “upgrade”-that’s a personal preference thing. The Sundara has greater detail with clarity, and most Audeze headphones (including this one) accentuate sibilance. You can’t ever tell how you’ll react to a headphone before listening

Very much obliged. Is it possible just using ifi xcan amp?
@NoThemeReviews4 жыл бұрын
Certainly. Audeze recommends at least 250mw for peak performance and the xCan can provide that easily.
