Does the same apply when fitting an aftermarket gear knob ?
@SelectVehicleSparesАй бұрын
I think it would depend on how the aftermarket gear knob attaches.

Can i just use end cutting pliers for the clip instead of crimpers cuz i dont have them
@SelectVehicleSpares2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we've used them before to do the same job. You just have to do it gradually from each side bit by bit.

It is a must to squeeze that thing first before eventually putting the collar back on right. Because i can't seem to be able to put that collar in place, it's almost as if it doesn't want go in and i have to use massive amount of force. Maybe if i squeeze the N10255501 first then I could potentially be able to put the collar where it has to be. What do you think?

Yes, if you squeeze the clip first, and then once it is tight you could try to squeeze it again with some grips so it doesn't stick out as far, this should help get the collar on easier.

do you know the size of the selector when the knob has been taken off, like is it 10mm, 12mm, 16mm? I'm trying to pick an aftermarket knob to put on and this would help a lot :)

Hi, no sorry, we no longer have the vehicle in the workshop, so couldn't say for sure what size it is.
