Looks like cabin filter is missing so dirt and dust are being sucked in, causing the fan to jam up. Good video 👍

Hey guy! When i turn on my car and put my air on max the air blows for about a min or two while making a weird sound then it goes down to about 5-10% of normal air blow. Also makes a «whistling» sound. I feel like the noise when i turn on my car comes from another place than the location of the blower fan beneath the glove compartment🤔 any advice on what else it might be? Oh btw ive got a 2018 a3 sportback, any difference in the procedure on «newer» a3’s? Sorry for the long post. Liked and subbed keep making content😄

The problem is that the cabin filter is fitted after the blower. I do not know why the hell Vw/Audi engineering did that. Cabin filter should he before the fan, like in the A3 8L and Golf MK4. Preserve the components.

I've just got a strange noise that appeared coming from it when it's on low. When it's high it sounds normal. Gotta investigate. Thanks for the upload. 👍

@@rickymacqueen6690 yes it was the blower motor. I removed it, which was easier than I thought. Put wd40 in and around the bearings then re tried it. It didn't work so I had to get a 2nd hand blower motor. 👍

@@rickymacqueen6690 it's easier than you think. Only mistake I made was the small clip at the glove box that makes the glove box open slowly, I accidentally snapped it. So the glove box dropped rather than slowly glided down when I pulled the latch. Good luck with it 👍👍

Was this an Intermittent fault? Mine works then will cut out an stop blowing any air! . If Turn ignition off then on again it blows. Totally random. Any advice appreciated thanks 👍

No, it was an intermittent I just didn’t drive the car for a while and it got stuck
