@johnmorrison90725 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t have a clue about that one oil can only burn if it’s hits the manifold the only seal at back of the engine gearbox I believe would be the main seal Maybe you have a vacuum or boost leak or you need an injector seal hope this helps

How do you get around the other high pressure hose that is sat hanging over the cover? That’s my last thing I need to do to remove the cover other than that I’m stuck any advice welcome
@johnmorrison90726 ай бұрын
I don’t think I got that far into the job, are you on about the two hard steel lines that run up the side of the engine block. if it’s that much of a pain, you may have to take off the air intake, if you cannot pry it out of the way but I’m not 100% sure in what high pressure line you’re talking about

Thanks for this mate massively helpful. Why were you replacing the rack in the first place? mine has a common fault that makes the steering go heavy which is a fault with the motor. very annoying. And did you have to get the new rack coded to the car in the end?
@johnmorrison90728 ай бұрын
I replaced the rack because it got very stiff and used to momentarily lock in position whilst driving when I took it apart, it looked like water has gotten into the rack no I didn’t need to code the steering rack didn’t have any warning lights or any fault codes, just plug and play Very glad the video helped you thank you for subscribing
@chrisholmes81978 ай бұрын
@@johnmorrison9072 I was planning on paying 700-800 to get this done but think I’m just going to buy a refurbed rack for £500 and do it myself. Did you have fault codes on the dash before you changed the rack?
@chrisholmes81977 ай бұрын
Any chance you could tell me the part numbers on the steering rack? And maybe a tip on where to get one? I’m looking at eBay but I’m worried they might be faulty as well and leave me with the same problem. Mines got a common fault in the electric motor
@chrisholmes81977 ай бұрын
Also what year is the car? Sorry for bombarding with questions haha
@johnmorrison90727 ай бұрын
As Far as I’m aware, as I obviously did look for t the part on various websites, mainly eBay and speak to several people about this. Part number is largely irrelevant believe it or not. If you go on eBay you will see that none of the part numbers match. You just need one for the make model and year of your car I was just going on eBay and contacting the sellers of the parts and they may or may not contact you back but some of the sellers are very informative and very helpful. I hope this helps

love your work, you spend a lot of time on it i can tell for sure. i'm doing a restoration on my focus right now, some thing i will let do to a garage like some welding at the back suspension mounts after a complete revision of the suspension. i do have a question for you if you don't mind. my car a zetec 2.0 pulls up but when i deacellerate it hesates or stumbles, do you have an idea what this could be? much regards from Belgium
@johnmorrison90729 ай бұрын
Hi, sorry for late response unfortunately I don’t really know what could be causing that problem as I’ve not experienced it myself. I would have to research the issue. My first thoughts is possibly the idle air control valve sticking but cannot be sure. Sorry I couldn’t be much help in this situation if I do discover the reason I will let you know.

Got the same alignment bolts as you and they don’t fit in the holes. The treads are all good but the bigger part of the bolts won’t fit through the subframe holes, nightmare, you make it look easy 👍
@johnmorrison90729 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late response I’m not sure why the bolts don’t fit maybe it’s a different year possibly you have a different engine but I can’t be sure
@jamieharris96199 ай бұрын
No worries, I think it was just corrosion and dirt in the holes. I took the small o-rings off the alignment bolts and they then fitted in the holes. Jobs all good now. Drives loads better, thanks for the video, mine is the 2.0 tfsi Quattro.

@johnmorrison9072 Жыл бұрын
It’s all I could buy at the time, didn’t have anything else
@igorvorobjov Жыл бұрын
You just need a larger weight to your self constructed extractor. Just put a larger hammer without handle on longer axle. Also you can use different weights from the sport shop.

@@rickymacqueen6690 it's easier than you think. Only mistake I made was the small clip at the glove box that makes the glove box open slowly, I accidentally snapped it. So the glove box dropped rather than slowly glided down when I pulled the latch. Good luck with it 👍👍
