Unlike many trying to sound intelligent, this concise, and in plain English , which in my estimation makes it really useful as info on this model of A3 is extremely thin on the ground. lovely jubbly. Ps not to worry about the 'f' word, strange it's not in the dictionary as it is used the world over. Be lucky, and thanks again.

Hey there, Just about to replace the slam panel and the bonnet on my 2002 A3 8L. I don't have a great deal of tools, I do have essentials and basics though. Would you be able to list whatever I would need for removing the Front bumper, the bonnet, the slam panel, and also whatever I would need for getting off and putting on the old radiator onto the new slam panel? So, that I could prepare those tools. Thanks very much! Very good video, appreciation!

good vid mate, just a quick one on the slam panel fastenings, to get them out you just push down the centre part and pop the whole thing out. not trying to be an arse just might be easier for you or anyone else next time.

Tried it that way but kept pushing the centre to far and it ended up dropping behind bumper. Thanks for the tip..

Spot on! My S3 xenon bulbs have gone so I want to just remove the headlights.
@The-Lone-Racer-308 жыл бұрын
You don't need to remove the headlights to change the xenons. It's a tight squeeze but it can be done by just removing the rear cover on headlight.

Having some problems with getting to the front radiator's lower support rubber thing that stops it from moving up and down. Basically the rubber has broken off and i see no way in removing the front completely to acess the radiators lower section without taking the engine out.

No need to remove engine mate. You have to take off the front bumper. Then u will see the air con rad is bolted to the cooling radiator with the fans attached. You need to seperate the air con rad by removing the four little 10mm bolts that are in the front of the black subframe that surrounds the rads at the front of the car. ( pause video at 3:34 you can see the subframe with the recessed holes holding air con rad ) Then remove the 3 lower bolts in the bumper supports..they are square plates. Then go under the vehicle and seperate the cooling rad from subframe by gently prising the subframe towards the front of the vehicle and holding the rad as the rubber mount slots into the subframe The radiator should drop downwards enough for you to get to the rubber mount. You may need to remove the top hose so the rad has a bit of play as it needs to travel downwards...not a problem if it's drivers side lower mount. Remember to unbolt the air con receiver drier as it is close to the end of radiator if you are doing the drivers side mount. No need to undo any air con connections. Air con rad will stay up there. You should not need to unplug any wires as you are only changing the bottom mount. Good luck.

shadenator oh damn man didnt expect to get an answer. Thanks, il get on to that in the coming days. How much do you know about the A3's overall? Ive been looking for a person to share all kinds of information about the specifics of this car model. Dont take me for a creep, just a young mechanic and learning this cars quirks.

Owned and worked on the Audi a3 8l for about 12 years now. My brother is also a mechanic for 30 plus years on Audi/vw motors. I am more than happy to help you out. Drop me a reply if needs be..

Turns out the torsion rod rubber connection to the frame was making the noise. However i did manage to fix the radiators support. 2 birds with 1 stone. Thank you for the help man, your instructions saved me from alot of headaches. :)
