Those actuator motors also function as potentiometers, so the HVAC unit knows exactly what the position of the flaps is, usually the tracks get dirty, you can take them apart and clean the crap off the tracks and regressed them, usually when they go funny you’ll hear the motors keep operating when you park up as it is trying to recognise what position the flap is at

The motor with the purple arm is for the temperature and NOT the flaps. I opened up mine a couple of weeks ago, the passenger side stayed cold. I soaked the potentiometer in contact spray for a little while, it's running fine now. Now I have to refurbish the fresh air intake motor, that one is stuck right now. No air flow in the cabin, on circulation I got full blast. So the blowermotor is indeed still working.

Ok this what i am getting with my 2007 Q7. The climate control with both set to........ HI....i do not feel any heat coming through any of the vents. So when i turn both drive and passenger dials down to say i set them both at 75 --- 65 right, then the heaters begin blowing from each of the vents. Is that normal or is there a problem with my heating system ? This is my first Audi Q7 so i am learning as i go here with things.... Thank you for any advice or tips you may be able to provide in relation to that if you have ever experienced this what i described here. again thank you.

HI, Thanks for the video. It was educative in general. In my case the motor is blowing but the heat is mild even on high. Hence I believe the vent is jammed. Please advise.

Hey. Nice video. Question: mine almost doesnt blow air at all, no matter How Much you turn it up. However, if you switch on circulation, it blows normally. And i know this will sound wierd, but it also blows normally for about 5 seconds if u turn on wiper fluid lmao. What could be faulty?

I just bought an Audi B7. When I turn it on or press the recirculation button I get a low clicking noise from the flap motor. I took out the glove box and I see that the flap opens and closes properly but I hear a low clicking after it is fully closed or open for about 5 seconds. Is this normal?

mine does this too.... driver side facing vent blows as cold as it will get and the middle vents and passenger vents only blow luke warm, barely cold air... good airflow though on all vents..

Jesper P Yes. There was a small crack in my lower high pressure pipe so i didn’t have any freon. The skid plate that cover the bottom of my car kept on dragging so I took it off exposing the pipe. I’ve must have bottomed out and cracked it. If your ECON mode light remains on, then you might be leaking or out of Freon.

Mine blows cold at startup but slowly over time transitions to blowing fog then to just barely cool out of all the dash vents. I believe it is a damper controller or the head unit itself. Which damper motor would affect both sides by adding more and more heat to both sides evenly.

I have a similar problem on the passenger side, you said it’s the one on the left bottom (on passenger side) purple handle behind but it’s moves when I change to cold, is there a chance it’s not moving all the way? Hi Myles yes your yellow flap motor is on your drivers side that would be your right side of the car.

I have this issue where my A/C works if i’m running the car (sometimes). if the car is parked, forget it! the a/c won’t work. Other strange fixes; it works fine after getting a carwash or if it’s cloudy. it sounds super strange but i beg you to believe me.

Your condenser fan is not starting up. that's why you only get cooling when driving in cold conditions and for the car wash you condenser is obvious full of water which cools it when driving.
