Audi A4 B7 - Coil Pack Connector Replacement

Should the car have any problems ? Been running with 2 of the clips broken for almost a year .

If the connection is made it will provide spark, replacing the broken clips will just ensure they don't come loose on their own.

When I did this I didn’t unhook the battery in two of my plugs soldered together in now I have no spark do you know rather I fried my ecu or jus blew a fuse ??

Always disconnect the battery when working on anything electrical, though I've done it too, many times. Are you getting spark at any of the coils? If so, swap coils around and see if the problem follows the coil pack. If none of the coils are firing you can check the engine management fuse.

I just replaced mine and I’m now getting a stabilization fault, parking break fault, and tire pressure fault. Do you know what would be doing this?

@@Pigeon_8008 is the car running normally? First thing I would do is double check anything you touched, make sure the connectors are pinned properly and no wires are switched. Also check connections in the area to make sure nothing came loose. Also I would check the battery, a weak battery can cause weird faults.

Everything was connected right, it started but had a rough idle. I decided I could try disconnecting the battery and touching the ends together, unfortunately when I reconnected the cables to the battery, it only had power in the back. No start, accessories, lights, nothing. I tried jumping it but no luck and the fuses in the driver side, passenger side, and trunk are good.

@@Pigeon_8008 it’s a long shot since it’s a huge fuse, but check the fuse in the box that’s on the positive battery cable, right next to the battery. Other than that, you may have to check relays, or have it towed into a reputable mechanic for diagnosis.

Alright, it ended up being one of those metal pieces connecting the two terminals on the positive end. It starts now with the original problems.

Thank you so much for the video! I had no idea on what to do If I didn’t see this ! Thanks!! I was changing the valve motor gasket and I had to take out those bad boys during the processes and they all broke( they were so old and I think 2 of em were not even connected right). Well I replaced all of them but I couldn’t connect them right to the ignition coils because the plastic cover to cover the wires, for some reason didn’t allow them to go all that far. So I left the wires naked and i got to say it runs wayyy faster!! My question is have you put the cover back to cover the wires? Right now it’s cold so I ain’t too worried about it. Thanks

@@swimers100 Hey happy to have helped! My car actually didn't come with a plastic cover but I ended up buying and installing one, the wire end of the connectors sits inside the plastic so it's kind of tough to get the harness seated and get all the clips secured, but I doubt that it's a huge deal to leave it off. You can probably just loom them together with some high temp cloth wrap and call it good 👍

I'm going to change all 4 of my connectors since I snapped off the little clip trying to be a mechanic. Lol Do you really have to disconnect the battery? When you disconnect the battery remove both positive and negative terminal cables right?

Yeah the "push and then pull" is really important with these guys, otherwise they just break. They break anyways plastic never lasts. Yes absolutely just pull the negative cable that's all you need to do, I started with it connected and the tool sparked when I put it in, if they contact each other then can fuse together and cause other issues.
