I'm that exact age now and I want to get one when I'm out of law school, which will be when I'm 25. I'd probably buy a used one though because here in the United States, these cars tend to depreciate quite a bit in the first couple of years of ownership, meaning I'd save thousands of dollars.

I was really just commenting on the aesthetics of the car. BMW's have MUCH better road feel and more personality in my book. I think the new a4 looks great, but I'd still stick with a 3-series any day.

As a BMW owner and a long time BMW fan as well, I have to say Mercedes and Audi with their newest C-class and A4 interior + exterior upgrades have surpassed antique-looking BMW 3-series in a big big way. Considering the world we are living right now, a lot of high-tech package such as navigation, anti-collision, driver assistant, digital dashboard, etc. should come as standard.

Nathan Lin Nobody needs digital dash! Most of the Audi owners get bored from the digital dash after few months and let it in "classical mode". I could argue even for the navigation and the driver assist - probably 90% of the time you are driving on the same well know route - day after day, driving to work or the superstore and back, to the school the gas station and the favourite cafe and restourants... for the rest of the time there are Smartphones to help you! Driving assistance... well if you drive the bloody car instead of playing with the satnav you don't need most of them.

@audiUSA Why is Audi of America not offering the suite of technology that was launched in the Audi Q7 in the new Audi A4 in USA?!? They offer it in Europe... That was one of the primary marketing points during the press launch of this car. Why do they not show traffic jam assistance, turn assist, exit warning assist, audi pre sense city, and night vision assistance as options in the configurator on the audiusa website?

I might be buying my first Audi this year but I'm somewhat perplexed. I've looked at the A4 Premium Plus and some dealer websites say it comes with a 10-Speaker system, but this video says a 19-Speaker System. Do I have to purchase the Prestige to the 19-Speaker 755 watts B&O 3D sound system or can I get it also in the Premium Plus? Also, I have an extensive CD collection, many of them SACD's - very high quality, and I need a vehicle that has a great CD Player. Again, at dealer websites I see "CD-MP3 Decoder". What the heck is that??? Also, I see "Remote CD Player" which has no explanation with it either. What does it mean?

+Jeff Kling S4 is a ripoff in my opinion. You spend so much more money on a few performance upgrades when you could just get an A6 for the same amount of money as an S4 and get a lot more luxury and roughly the same kind of power.

Stop making everything bigger! If buyers want a bigger car let them go buy a bigger car in the lineup. Bigger takes away from driving dynamics... Oh, sorry, I forgot I'm an American and suppose to believe everything is better when bigger. :/ Now that I got that out of the way, I like the updated car. Pretty excited to see the S4.

Went and drove both the new 2017 A4 and a S3. Same price point, so no need to step down to the A3. The 2017 is a great Goldie Locks car, it does everything well but doesn't do anything amazing. I definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun yet classy daily driver. As for the S3... talk about being on the fence. LOVE the size and how the smaller car moves around. HATE the they didn't put a Quattro system in it, but instead used the Gold R front wheel drive biased system. IF the S3 had Audi's Quattro system I'd buy one for sure! Maybe the RS3 is the answer... time will tell.

I think it's safe to say the Aventador does not have the same system that is in the Golf R. Let's compare the 2017 A4 to the current S3, two car both made by Audi with different "quattro" systems. The S3 is front wheel biased, only sending limited power to the rear wheels when it detects a loss of traction up front. In the 2017 A4 power is defaulted to 40% front and 60% rear. When the quattro systems detects a loss of traction the system can send up to 70% of the power to the front or 85% to the rear. The BIG difference is that at all times all 4 wheels are receiving power the the systems wants to send more power the the rear, giving a totally different driving dynamic to the car. Drive them back to back and you'll really feel the difference. I'm a self proclaimed BMW whore, but I too feel BMW has lost it's way. I get the average person wants a dumbed down car that isolates the driver from everything except their smart phone. I on the other hand miss the smaller, lighter, more driver focused cars of past generations. I just don't understand why BMW all but refuses to build smaller performance oriented cars. Take the new M2, they are only building around 1800 cars. Why? Why not build as many as you can sell?

I read an article last week about the dealth of the sports car. The general thought was that more practical cars, like the Audi S3, give most people all the performance they want without sacrificing things like a trunk or back seat. Still wish there were some more driver oriented car in the middle price range of 30-50K. To be honest, practical and fun would win me over too, if Audi made an S3 with rear wheel biased quattro and a manual transmission I'd buy it tomorrow!

+NebPWN I disagree. The same quality materials are being used in the new C-class as in the A4, but I simply dislike the futuristic styling in the new C-class. You also get more value for your money with the new A4. You can get a a fully loaded A4 for roughly 55k whereas you will spend north of 60k for a fully loaded c-class with the same features.
