To get started, if the PRNDS indicator is all lit, this means your transmission has went into failsafe mode. This may only seem like a transmission problem, but engine problems can also cause the automatic trans to go into failsafe too. From there it is best to scan codes to find out what is (or could be) causing it.

@@BerengSeekoei I scrapped the vehicle. Luckily I bought it dirt cheap and served me couple of years. So scrapping was more sensible than repairing all the issues.

we connected the reader it showed cylinder 3 misfire, meaning spark plug or coil, after that fix car was fine

I have a similar issue only mine decides to go into the 'limp' or 'safe' mode after 60mph, I have an Audi A6 C6 3.0 Quattro 2008, I took the car to 3 different garages who said the same thing, which was to change the CVT oil in the gearbox, upon doing this I still had no luck & the car continued to go into the 'limp/safe' mode. I'm currently looking at other forums at the moment and have narrowed it down to a few things. 1. The TCU module (Transmission Control Unit), may need to be replaced as a common problem with Audi A6's is that the passenger side footwell can get very wet/damp and can cause issues to the module. As far as I'm aware the TCU is located in that region. 2. The gear stick itself may need replacing. 3. Replace the CVT oil in the gearbox. (Which made no difference to my car) Obviously there may be more issues to look into but I will post something as soon as I have more information. If anyone does have any info that would help, please let us know.

Send your tcu which in in gearbox takes about 15min to remove send it to ecu testing it will fix your fault

my car changes gears fine using the tiptronic and the gear knob, the only problem is that most of the time it doesn't show if i'm in drive reverse or when i switch it to tiptronic it doesn't show the gear changes even if it changing smoothly. the guy scanned it and told me he never saw this code it say something tiptronic something. any help guys

exactly the sama problem. went to audi service and they " sold me" some bull.... about how the battery is not the original one ( witch has a code ) and the resource management computer ???? is not seeing that the battery has been changed and so on. Anyway, the battery has been changed al least one year ago and until now, no problem. if you have a result/response please share because AUDI's last answer was mechatronic computer = 3000 eur !!!.

mihaicmg usually when you disconnect the battery from the TCM (transmission control module) for 30 minutes and then you reconnect the batt, the TCM resets it self and that seems to fix a bunch of problems.
