I hate the fact they always test the top of the range cars only, when majority sold is the low to mid range with basic options. Very few people pay for the air suspension and rear wheel steering. It would be good to get more insight into what standard suspension is like, not just, it will crash over large pot holes. What normal suspension doesn’t crash over pot holes?!

in north america, the mid size 6 cylinders sedans are smiliar price with 6 cylinders suv. basically majority will get suv,not sure in other countries.

Great review Ginny. Though i do find Audi's a little bit on the dull side, they're all essentially A4's just in varying sizes, though they are very good at what the do. I really like that teeny little gear stick for some reason, and those haptic feedback buttons are so very Aston Martin darling, Batch is a man of taste.

Why do car manufacturers persist with touch screens. Fingers prints will be horrendous and you have to take your eyes off the road to see what you’re pressing - surely this will have an impact on the N-Cap rating in the near future Top tip for Carbuyer - if you want to catch up Carwow with subs, try something different and review an average spec’d car that’s within the majority of the average Joe’s budget

Dont Believe Everything You Read I agree there should be more of an evolution between each generation but that's not the designers faults. If the cars looked wildly different then each generation would be outdated real quick. They have the means and technology to do something amazing but they have to sell these cars to look good in 10 years time so that's the mindset they follow

Executive status symbols like these are usually the same. It's a reflection of the conservative nature of it's audience. The only exception are french luxury cars like the C6.

I’ve had a couple of A6 cars of late, but I’m passing on this one. Hugely disappointed with both the interior and exterior, but more on the level of standard kit. Don’t even get virtual cockpit as standard.

I still don't get the fascination with having a touchscreen for the climate control, let alone one so low down. Couldn't it have been done through the upper screen, and as such benefit from the haptic feedback? Also, Mercedes may have "bling" interiors, but the higher specs models of the new A1 (and presumably, soon to be throughout the range) have a better and arguably safer layout. People will definitely want to change the climate control on the move, which means looking down at a screen that picks up reflections and will show off no end of fingerprint smears, which can't be safe. At least, if it's more towards eye level, it's going to be easier to see and use.

The lower screen for climate controls also provides haptic feedback, in case you didn't know that. Physical climate controls from other manufacturers are also positioned low, you have to look down wether the controls are digital or not. And please don't come up with the argument that you don't have to look down to operate with real buttons, because it's simply not true for many functions and non practical for the others. Using the touchscreen may be a little bit more distracting at the begining, but as soon as you know where all those climate functions are positioned on the screen, you operate with them as fast as you would do with physical buttons. Having my hand on the gear stick, using that screen means nothing more than stretching my index finger and click. There are no problems with (sun)reflections, the screens are easy to read at any time of the day or weather. Fingerprints are indeed a problem, agree on that one.

I think Audi is tarnishing its image (if it ever had one) by inviting Alexa or Sirius or any other useless novelties that most of us are bored with by now. I never felt comfortable talking to my radio even when no one else was in the house. Audi should direct its attention to a car that's fun to drive and pleasureable for the long-distance because of a smooth, soft, shock-absorbent ride. Only one novelty would awaken the interest of my wife and me--front seats offering a massage feature for backs no longer in shape for 10-hour rides to another coast.
