Nothing wrong with losing the V8 ! The B5 came with the V6 2.7 Bi turbo. I have the B5 RS4 with 198k miles running 490bhp still going strong !

There's nothing wrong with the interior, it's well built and quality is strong it's very simple, subtle and elegant and not busy like BMW and other manufacturers

Great review Ginny, you're right about the colour i still love it. I don't mind the RS4 having a V6 i see it as going back to it's roots, the original B5 RS4 was after all a Bi-turbo V6 only made by Cosworth for added cool. It's always been one of those cars that does exactly what it says on the tin, carries everything & everybody quickly without being too ostentatious & who doesn't like that ?

I have a 2018 RS5 which is the same vehicle. Two things I would change, the transmission and the display which can't be lowered, Give a dual clutch and a hideaway display. Otherwise the car is great.

Audi made a mistake by putting only 450 bhp to the RS5 coz both AMG C63s and the M4 CP make more than 470 HP, which means its more than advertised.

I’d certainly want one of these if I had £70k to spend. Perfect family car that’s also fun. Bmw have screwed the pooch not making a M3 mxdrive Touring to rival this or even a M5 Touring to take on the RS6, the panamera sport turismo Turbo, the E63S estate etc. The Alpina B5 Touring is gorgeous but it’s based on a standard 5 series so it’s not an M car rival.

thinking about one for my wife, but she wonders how it is to run in heels (about 10 cm). She uses it in the job and does not want to change shoes every time she drives. Today she runs a Mercedes automatic transmission and it is very easy to drive in heels.

No...the fake air vents don’t annoy me. I’m pretty certain if they served better purpose letting air in then the Audi engineers wouldn’t have closed them off but they probably provide better aerodynamic use as well as making a ‘sporty’ car look sporty. If they weren’t there you’d complain it’s not aggressive enough.

The interior peaked with the A4 A5 design, newer A6 A8 interiors whilst striking aren’t as functional when moving as nothing beats a rotary dial when driving. Slightly biased though as I’ve a new A5 coupe on the drive.

Rs4 B8 V8 owner . Sorry mine sounds better :) Took the new one out for a test drive and didn't scare myself as much as mine does for sure . Nice car lots of gadgets but not as raw . Everyone to their own though

A very good car but that interior doesnt live up to the price tag or an RS badge. Colour is great IMHO but all this V8 nostalgia - the original was a twin-turbo V6 so IMO the V8s were a very inelegant solution and glad to see them gone (the V10 in the S6/RS6 was even worse). Would be nice to see a back to back with the original and this - notable for the in gear pick up and handling/ride comfort as my RS4 was one of the best cars I ever owned
