Peter, thank you so much from sharing that with us!! I appreciate and understand the emotion. Many years ago, I had an SQ build that was featured in the World of Wheels Expo in 1997. It was a brand new 1996 Pontiac Ram-Air Trans Am. It had Focal components, McIntosh Amplifiers, 3 JL Audio 8W6s.....even a custom center channel,.and for the era it was INCREDIBLE! I was chasing SQ pieces from around the world. I remember my fiance listening to music inside the car and literally crying because she said "I don't just hear the song, I feel the song , the emotion, and feel like I'm a part of it." I knew exactly what she meant. It was beautiful. And nothing great compared to what you have built here, but I wanted to thank you for a.precious trip down memory lane. It's AWESOME!! Thank you!!

It’s really nice to see such a simple system get that reaction from you (I’m not knocking it I just love the fact everything is tidy and hidden, if you sat in that car until you hit play you’d be blissfully unaware) We can learn a lot from factory audio setups. Ok they don’t use top end components but they are giving great foundations for upgrades. Putting midbass drivers in ported boxes in the door is awesome. Cuts down on vibrations etc. the Audi tt with b&o uses 6” dual voice coil woofers in boxes in the front doors and you get so much upfront punch it’s unreal, I’ve never come close to getting that level of attack from the doors (I’m a drummer so I know how a floor Tom feels especially from a players perspective). Fantastic install, I’d love to hear something like this as a reference point to my own setup! Thanks for so much great content over the past year and before, look forward to more in 2023!

I wont forget first time i managed to tune my simple and really cheap 2way passive front end and subwoofer system to sound like band would be outside of windscreen playing on the hood.

Awesome video Pete! I think the experience you were having was called "Frisson", although ASMR is basically the same thing (that's what a lot of the people that listen to ASMR are chasing). I used to get that a lot in my old build with a specific song, it's been a while since I've had that feeling, been chasing it for a while now. Hopefully when my build is done, I'll get to experience it again.

I saw this one when it came out but I'm compelled to make a comment since I experienced a very similar response today not once but multiple times on um my SQ car and on my home audio reference system. Shout out to my installer and friend Julian Ridi who has brought me back from a 4 year struggle with Tinnitus and high frequency hearing loss. I wish I could have my vehicle tuned by you. I have been building my Lexus GX470 and competing here in the States. I did a full interior removal and deadening/sound proofing. Morel 3 way active front stage with a single Stereo Integrity SQL-15 in a 2.3 cu. ft. Baltic Birch sealed enclosure running off of an MMats M1000.2 mono amp. I custom built all of my RCA's with Mogami wire and run optical from my headunit to a Helix DSP.3s and a Topping D10s DAC to the Helix for USB audio. I am currently upgrading to two Stereo Integrity 4 channel amplifiers for my front stage. One for the left channels and one for the right channels. I have other upgrades on the horizon as well with a larger 3.5" mid range and 8" mid bass, both of which I haven't decided on yet. I also am considering a different tweeter even though I love the Morel tweeters. I lt sounds good now, but I think it needs an experienced tuners touch to realize it's full potential.

We do get thatfeeling, for me it started with good car audio but also with a good set of headphones or earbuds , and very expensive with a good amp and player, it's probably easier with headphones, and it still cost a couple of thousands

Centre speaker mounting challenges, vented cup holder mid bass, ash tray or dash for the mid range and tweeter 🤔. Yes 3 ways all round but still in the making. Finding a 6.4 LF woofer isn't easy.
