Yep...mine broke at the neck of the cat converter same side....very expensive fix....so I did race pipes and catted downpipes!

Nice, did you have to Tune your ECU? Any CEL? I wanted to flat out Cat Delete, but they shop I took it to would not support modifications to emission equipment.

Needless to say I couldn't get it inspected because I was running the i.e. dp tune and didn't know they don't have the option to ready the catalyst and turn off any cels..cell... was told to put it back to the 93 stck tune and drive it to reset the ecu and try again...

I didn't understand what was the problem finally? What happened to it? Broken? Where exactly? Why it can't be fixed by a exhaust technician????????

My car is making the same sound. Did you smell any exhaust fumes in the engine bay?

Yes. U can smell the Pre Cat Exhaust and then 100% you have a leak. A cheaper option to fixing is to weld the flange but there is some risk to that too

Yeah got the check engine light. Just ordered 2 new aftermarket catalytic converters for about 2 grand that were half the price of the OEM. Hope to God that after install everything runs smooth and i don't get any check engine light. Ordered them from AutoZone & waiting for delivery. I got a Audi a6 c7 & oem would have ran me almost 5 grand.

If u do the work yourself and it is only a bad weld then you could take the parts to an exhaust shop and have it welded or u could just replace it like you are doing. Please let me know how the after market cats 🐈 work out. I think u will be fine.

@AthensGa24 If u can get it off, it can be welded but u gotta make sure the orientation is correct. Or u can just replace it but they are stupid expensive. How many miles or what year is your car?

place got to FCP EURO for parts for any AUDI OEM parts but cheaper then audi
