For a small SUV, the Audi Q2 TFSI Quattro holds its own. It's not your typical Audi in that it's not a super luxurious sedan, nor a large super practical SUV, and competitors in this class are fierce. But how did it perform with Nedahl's family?

Having owned one for over 7 months I find it suits requirements superbly. Replaced top line Kia Rio and Mazda CX5. Kia small, Mazda too large for our current requirements, only needing one vehicle now. $62 k approx with most packages included being a lot less than combined cost of the vehicles replaced. Goes well around town and on trips. Comfortable and easy to drive. Wife loves it. Must agree with comment that the test vehicle grey is not exciting.

Audi hitting home runs lately. First with the Q8 now the Q2. And the A6 is also just fantastic. Lets not forget the RS4.

It looks far too small and is limited by the requirement to pay for things standard in other makes. I don't mind the red features however some people might hate that. I would not even consider buying this car. How do you grade the cars you review? You regularly give scores of 7-8. What is your criteria?

I expected a comment from The Rambler. After all, bottom line is you're tending to agree with me. I've had BMW and Audi and I've seen both the Q2 and the X1. She's right that the Q2 is smaller and when fitted with the standard features of the others, it's overpriced.

CharltonLatchford The q2 is overpriced, that’s a fact. But you can’t compare the q2 with the x1. The x1 is made to compare with the q3.

@greyman003 There's no point in saying "it looks for too small" - it depends on the audience. \ I'm interested in this car exactly because of it's size - I don't want larger. But I don't go trolling around reviews of larger cars saying "looks too large"

Yeah it's typical of small SUVs though. Kia Seltos only has them in the top trim over $40k

Gosh, still no touch screen? Hello! This is 2018! Not sure how your pricing compares to the US, but this car better be cheap and it doesn't sound like it is!

hallcp2 touch screens are hard to use while on the move. The swivel wheel is more ergonomic. 2019 Audis will have touch screens tho.

I’m thinking who this review is for. Not car enthusiasts, of course. “It’s all wheel drive and it’s really fun” no it’s not. This car uses the Haldex all wheel drive system, which sends all the power to the front normally, and only occasionally send some to the back. Doesn’t really sound fun does it? “It’s very quick” It’s not a slow car, but certainly not a quick car. This q2 has a 187 bhp turbo petrol - which sounds ok. But, it’s not really “very quick”. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. I own a mk2 Mazda mx5 that’s got a rocketeer 3.0 v6 swap with a turbo kit and AMD stage 3, that pumps out around 300bhp. It’s also got a carbon fibre body kit, so it does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Then I also have a stock (don’t want it breaking down) S3 that I use for normal family runaround. It does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. I don’t know what your definition of a very quick car is, lady, but performance cars do 0-60 in under 5 seconds. I’d say under 7 seconds is categorized as a sports car. Then there’s the thing - the q2 is just a raised a3, but costs a lot more. Why not get an s3 slightly more money?

Lets review the Reviewer ! It (The reviewer) says ' Its not as sleek as a sedan ! OMG - Der! " its still got a great Line ( singular not Plural ) - it actually has Polygonal lines! The biggest words 'IT" slaps together ' It doesn't have the same superiority over style " WTF ! If 'IT" researched more , 'IT" would find that the interior is identical to every Audi from the A1 to the A3 of which are all SEDANS OR HATCHES . How does anything become 'Superior over Style ?" Bankstown girls high trained you well ! 'The Doors are Plasticky " Is that a Neologism ( new Word ) LOL 'They will sit perfectly however !" new world Grammar ! The final Rhode scholar remark is the clincher " It will Zoom you around town " so will a Scooter , Push Bike and every other Car you can purchase irrespective of its brand , design or vintage ! Carsguide - if you are going to keep presenting reviews please use people that can speak and understand English and grammar , I can't understand as you filmed edit you don't correct the horrible grammar , annunciation and check the research > The other Carsguide reviewers you use are all on par with the UK presenters who definitely are a Cut above !

Expensive, low level of standard kit compared to the competition, ugly red stripes, small and cramped with less boot space. Drab grey paint. That steering wheel is the same one as in my wife's Polo GT, except it's got the rings. The only thing that this car has is pure snobb appeal. Replace the Audi rings by a Skoda badge and the review would probably be devastating. I love your reviews, but you've shot yourself in the foot with this one.

The Rambler my wife actually wanted the A2, but the delivery times were 6 months compared to 2 months for the Polo, and initially you couldn't get a reversing camera. The A2 had only been on the market for a month and she'd promised her old car to a friend Today with no long waiting times and all features available, she'd pay the € 5000 extra for the fully loaded A2 versus the Polo. But both of them do have the same steering wheel.

CharltonLatchford Again you're comparing apples and oranges. The quality of the specs and tech on the Audi cannot be compared to that of a polo. These are two brands with very different philosophies when building a car. VW aims for affordability and thus makes many sacrifices that's why most of the material and feel is cheap and lacking. Audi are a luxury brand so they'll go all out and utilize expensive material and focus on high built quality. Do you really think luxury brand cars are expensive for no reason?.
