great video, just be careful of using any oiled air filters (e.g K&N) as the oil can stop your MAF sensor from working. great cheap un-oiled air filters are stock honda s2000 filters but they are pretty big

Honestly it makes the car so much more fun, the turbo is loud all the time. My Q is the "non fixed" version I haven't put DEF in my car for 4 years. Been waiting for the tank to drain then delete.

The number one thing I like is that sweet diesel clatter from our 3.0TDI Q7, when it gets on the boost. I even open the window or especially when you drive by the wall or other objects that reverberate the sound back into the cabin. Love it. It’s addicting to hear it. Next step is to mild tune it I think to stage 2 with DPF delete.

i will be yes, i might replace the stock mufflers with magnaflow mufflers. First will be fully deleted straight back.

Iirc it's a 4" as the filter comes with a rubber insert that you have to remove to get it fitted.

Realistically in the perfect world, cold air intake would be the best. But doing this intake I strictly wanted sound, and sound is what i got. You could put the cone filter on and try getting the lid on but you won't hear it much. Cool air is better for a car then warm.

It sound great, but its not worth it, running an after market air filter will eventually destroy your MAF and turbo. Here in the UK we have cars running 400-500 bhp 1000nm (737 ft ibs) with the standard air filter, so its not restrictive at all. Even my own car is at 320 bhp 531 ft ibs with the standard filter.

Not correct, it depends on the element the filter is made from and if it is maintenance free or not. A cheap filter can breakdown or let through particles that could dirty and damage the MAF sensor. Your turbo cannot get damaged from your filter unless the filter somehow it breaks apart in a bad way. I do agree though, that panel filters in the factory airbox can provide enough airflow to support higher power numbers. To fully optimise a cone filter, it will need proper placement (no heatsoak), adequate hard piping and a remap for it to be effective.

@@CalvinMOfficial This car doesn't have a panel filter its a cone, when you buy the OEM filter its usually supplied with an o-ring seal, the aftermarket ones don't usually have this. I've seen destroyed compressor wheels from running aftermarket. OEM filters are so good now. Its not worth the 1hp increase to allow more particles to pass through the filter.

Correct, they are circle filters and because I'm in a colder climate with snow I have the one with the snow screen.. as for debris destroying the compressor wheel.. I'll do a lil digging when I clean it next and see the current condition.

It wont destroy anything. But the turbo compressor wheel will end up with tiny pitts in the blades after a while. And youll be down on boost because of that.

You won't keep that car for long. Sport filters allow quartz particles to be swallowed by cylinders and destroy (scratch) them over time. Paper is good up to 2,000 hp. I have much more power than 300 hp, and still use paper, it works and keep my intake spotless. All sport filters do is noise. I build cars so maybe I know a little about engines.

Then you should know that these filters get coated with oil to prevent particles.....
