Great video. I own a late 2016 SQ7. Had it since it was 1 year old with 10k miles on the clock. It's a 4.0 V8 TDI version. It had been perfect for 5 years of ownership, but then in the last year we started to do really small 1 mile journeys (school pick up/drop offs etc), 1 year later, had 2 Ad blue repairs in with Audi garage - Ad blue injector pumps, and other ad blue system repairs - spent £2k on it. Before this, was just regular serviving and no issues at all. Car has done nearly 50k miles now. Moral of the story, pay for the extended warranty (or have a great Audi specialist near you!), I saved myself about 2k on not buying 2 years of extended warranty - but had I done so all the work would have been covered plus any future problems....

I made a comment above a year ago about my Q7 issues. Well I sold that car last October and bought an almost new 2023 Touareg. I believed the KZbin reviews that said it was a budget Q7. Sadly the first part of that advice (budget) was more apt than the latter part. The Touareg is no Q7. Noisier, thrashier, lumpier air suspension, maddening to use the driver interface (especially the cruise control), less accurate on the road. Took it for a 1000km+ drive around the country (NZ) and when I came back started looking for something else. Two weeks ago I found a December 2019 SQ7 TDi with one owner history, 25000kms (15,000 miles) and full service history since new from the same dealer. Its like new. This car was one of the very last in NZ to be sold before the switch to full digital driver interface. I bloody love it. Hope I don't have any issues with it, but it still has two years of full Audi warranty and I can get another 2 years before the car turns 6yo.
@pauldowningukАй бұрын
I had a 2017 Audi SQ5 3.0 TDi for a couple of years. I thought i knew what i was getting into. It had "full" Audi history and was well looked after and in great condition but had just done 100k. Problems started almost from day one. It threw the serpent belt off due to the rubber in the bottom pulley wheel rotting (£800). Then injector seals went. Then the rockers covers started leaking oil. All the inlet pipes and EGR had carboned up so need cleaning out. After 6 months i noticed the timing chain rattling on start up (was quoted £3999 Audi independant). That quote was assuming the cam sprockets wasn't worn (another £3999) Then noticed an oil mist/spray on the rear window. Turned out to be turbo seals (£1800). I was advised at the last service to have gearbox + diff and fuel filters done. With the timing chain and cam sprockets, the quote from the Audi independant was over £10,000. With all the above in the video that could also go wrong, i sold it. Shame as it was a brilliant car to drive. I view myself as a survivor. Ie the one who got out before the shit hit the fan!

Glad I found this video. I've got a 2015 (new shape) Q7 3.0 TDI, which I bought with 36kms on it in 2018, now has 93kms. Been a great car. However over last three years it has slowly developed a rattling noise from either trans or engine when cold and under load (up a hill etc). The dealer service guys here in NZ (taken it to two different dealer service centres) don't seem to believe me although I've mentioned it at every service (while under warranty and now not...). They 'cannot replicate the noise'. But it is getting slowly worse and is worrying me more and more. It goes away once the engine (or trans) is fully warmed up, but takes longer and longer to clear each morning. Is it about to shit itself? Honestly sounds like an engine running with no oil being pumped around but I'm sure it can't be that or it would have by now I'm sure! Apart from that, its a beautiful car to drive and tow with.

Hi. I have a 2018 Audi Q7 3liter turbo. Issue I started noticing was that when I turn the wheel at low speeds (puling out of a driveway, or maneuvering around parking lot and tight spaces) I hear a sound that resembles rubber is grinding or tires rubbing excessively over pavement. Tires brand new (started noticing this issue on old tires also). Car was never in an accident, purchased it at 5K miles, it has 89k now. What would you say potential issue is?
@johnnym.57063 ай бұрын
@sg_atukr4247 FYI - We had the same or similar issue with our 2013 Q7. It ended up being a bad computer module that controls maneuvering of the vehicle. Q7s have about 13 computer modules / components. This was diagnosed by our local audi dealership. They replaced the module and the issue was resolved. Pls note if I recall the bill was about $1100 or so.. Can't recall all details. I hope this helps, and maybe point you in the right direction.
