as far as i know, car manufacturer specifies how long each of the service jobs take, what and how has to be done. Clients @ dealer pays for the labor time the manufacturer has specified. From my experience, when the service guys start to optimize jobs, different mistakes arise (forgotten/loose bolts etc.) In my opinion all those optimisation things are ok for the indie mechanics, but when you pay for the manufacturer's specified labor time, they better do step-by-step as the instruction says.
@PentaYOOO3 жыл бұрын
Where I work the manufacturer specifies how long each job has to take. Quite difficult sometimes to hit those numbers tho
@Dexspic3 жыл бұрын
That sounds good till the manufacturer never changed a clutch and says u have to change it in 2 hours when u have to down the subframe to make the gear box down and can change the clutch with all his things.

you can count on the germans to make an obscure, proprietary, and ultimately useless design for a part that is basically universal and that makes even simple repair inaccessible (and very expensive) to most people

@mechanicsteve where can I order the tool set you use??
@stevencrowley11011 ай бұрын
It’s funny how everyone is praising him for being careful despite the fact that he did the service completely wrong lol. Q8s are not supposed to be lifted for an oil change, Audi calls for it to be extracted via a vacuum tube from the top of the engine bay. This way you do not risk stripping the skid plating / the drain plug which are not meant to be routinely removed and will strip if the oil is changed this way repeatedly. All this extra uncalled for work is costing you money as a customer.

that audi needs a specific manufacture oil, putting a chinese oil or any other oil wil cause a certain engine fault after a while it doesnt matter how expensive it is. those TFSI is so sensitive.
@kenne3403 жыл бұрын
I don’t own an Audi nor do I service any, but how can this be true? If the motor oil meets the specs, it doesn’t matter if it’s Audi branded, Pennzoil, Mobil 1, Motul, Amsoil, Walmart, or no-name. Besides, do you actually think Audi manufactures their own oil? No, they simply buy it from one of the oil companies that produce oil that meets their engineering specs and have it branded as Audi.
@elihernandez3303 жыл бұрын
Well the first part is false but the part about the tfsi I being a piece of crap yeah that's pretty true. If the oil meets the certification which are pretty stringent on the vw/audi 50(x)/50(x) and it may even be the Porsche spec instead. Chinese oils can be good. They do have refineries and know how to blend oil. It's not bleeding edge technology.
