Be grateful you have the manual box... That's cheap to fix in comparison to the auto box in my rs6 of the same year.. If I told you the price so far you'll need to sit down for 5 minutes beforehand.. With a defib machine on standby. Never seen a fly wheel split like that.. That's wild.

@@hoodstig well, pull up a pew my friend and listen carefully! My cat, my best mate Dave, was sick and wasn't eating. I decided to go to the local Asda to grab a tin of tuna to see if he'd eat it and if not then the next morning we were going to the vet. On my rs6 the flappy paddles have been deleted and I have the thumb buttons on the steering wheel instead. On my way to the supermarket I managed to break the gearbox under acceleration from a junction about half a mile away by accidentally knocking the button with my thumb as the gear change from 2nd to 3rd happened. I knocked it into 1st and the gearbox popped. Killed the gear select switch and the transmission range sensor which in turn lunched the clutch packs, filled the box with swarf and clogged the valve body. So basically destroyed EVERYTHING inside the case. £3,000 for engine and box out and in. £5000 for the brand new gearbox internals. £1,500 for the gearbox to be cored out, rebuilt and the timing gear done. £500 for the timing gear because it makes sense while the engine is out. So £10k for the box to be done on a car I paid £12k for 7 years ago. Then I paid £2,500 for brand new disc brakes and pads all round. Then £4,000 storage fees because of covid. So yea, balls deep is an understatement. Still not seen the car in 4 years as it became a back burner job. At least I have a claim to fame. I money shifted an automatic! 😂

I've done a4 b6 1.9 tdi clutch an flywheel on the floor infront of my drive with my little brother an you are right I won't recommend anyone else doing it tbh

I know pain bro. Try looking for decent o2m smf for 1.9tdi fwd that isnt valio or some chinese crap. Ive got ds billet smf sachs sre 4 puk and sre pressure plate rrp £1200 arp bolts x6 or 8 at £80 lol tenner bolt! Sachs slave £50 braided line £80 4h short shifter was around 250 and 4th gear support 150ish. Vag shiX aint cheap haha
