The gated shifter is just perfect. Do not get me wrong, the technology with S-tronic is ultra awesome too, but for the person who love the traditional manner of shifting, this car is a true beast. You can buy a used one for around 100k. For the average employee, a daunting sum, but I believe that I can afford this car one day. None the less, this man, even if he has passed, was a wonderful shifter! Well done with displaying the harmony of this cars gear box and engine.

Yeah - after 6 months now with the tiptronic in my TTS - it is the way to go. Keep hands on the wheel, perfect rev matching, instant changes. Then again those gated boxes sound cool too. I just can't get over the fugly colour choice of the seats though.

Well yeah the driver "blips" the throttle so he can smoothly transition to a lower gear. Usually heel toe is used for performance driving. It's really handy to learn this method plus it makes the already enjoyable driving experience of a stick shift even better

A Prius doesn't have a second gear, so-to-speak. It has a continuously-variable transmission. The Audi R8 has a 6-speed manual (or 6-speed automated manual). The 2013 also has a 7-speed dual clutch automated manual gearbox.
@tylerhilligoss13 жыл бұрын
Lovely video and a great POV. One tip, though: I'd recommend putting your hand back on the wheel between shifts. While it can technically be bad for the transmission, it is more of a finesse/control thing and generally expected amongst car enthusiasts. Keep the videos coming!

@SHOCKandAWE01 I'm aware he's shifting... but just take 1:20-1:30 for example 3rd to 5th gear he is having his hand on the shifter the whole times. Ten seconds at high speeds with one hand on the wheel. Requires more caution, especially in public.

Robert, do you rent that warehouse or do you own it? Wouldn't it be smart to buy an investment property in a future development area, then build a small, insulated and secured structure on the property to house your vehicles? If you did that instead of renting, you pay some at first, but if you choose the property wisely then in 15 or 20 years you could get almost double what you initially paid, and in the meantime have the freedom to do what you want with the land. It's just an idea :) Cheers
