Audi RS2 - The dream car for cool dads of the 90s | Retro Garage

The Audi RS2 was co-developed and assembled by Porsche as a way to help Audi become more upmarket in the early to mid 90s. Audi specifically chose the avant as it's base as the space of mid sized performance saloons was already getting increasingly saturated, especially as more brands started adding turbo chargerts.
The Audi RS2 is essentially an uprated Audi S2 Avant, with the ADU engine in the RS2 being a version of the later S2's ABY 20 valve 5 cylinder turbo engine with a different intake manifold, exhaust manifold, sharper camshafts and a few other tweaks.
It marked a new daw for Audi and paved the way for all the RS models to follow as its Group B glory was being ever distanced in the minds of the general public.
