Great review! Filled with joy and good humour whilst remaining aware of whatever shortcomings the vehicle may have. I own an RS5 which I named The Bull and my good lady said to me :'You searched a long time for the right vehicle at the right price. But seeing the pleasure you get out of driving it I can understand what you meant when you told me before you bought it : I want another V8 before I die.' I wish at least one V8 on all petrols heads in their lifetimes. It's a motor that completely summarises the romance and fun of driving.

When it switches off 4 cylinders, it isn't one bank that is turned off. It is 2 cylinders on one bank and 2 om the other. On one bank it's tje inner 2 cylinders, on the other bank it's the outer cylinders. So it basically runs like a V4. They have special active engine mounts and sounds generators so that the driver can't feel or hear any difference.

Good Review as always. The keyless start does make sense. In an ordinary car the key is normally sticking out of the dashboard - there is the possibility the driver can be harmed (knee, leg or arms) by the key in the dashboard. This risk is eliminated with keyless start...

Great video - informative and funny as ever (your easy and witty delivery was the reason I subscribed after seeing just one of your videos some months ago). I'm in my early 30's and a have a Jaguar XK Dynamic R - its my only car so use it as a daily. I'm getting the (totally irrational but ever present) urge to change but nothing matches it for style, speed, luxury and an ability to stay being worth £40k.. I bought it for £40k and I can pretty much sell it for £40k.. I'd like to get a 2012/13 GT Speed but that will be my first foray into depreciationville. TheCarGuys.TV yes 9k seems to be the cheapest current asking price for a quality full set. As you’ll know, watch prices across the board have gone crazy expensive with Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, Rolex and the like leading the field. "Slightest fraction of a Bar leads to a tyre inflation warning" After I see the MMI display let me know that the tyres are missing at least 0.8 Bar at the front... That sort of tyre profile means if you're 0.3 off then it's already badly off. And then he wonders about the MPG. Steering should feel wrong too by the way.

You know you can change the weight of the steering don’t you? You can set it up in the ‘individual’ mode of the car systems. Setting it light makes the car a lot easier to steer.
@pdservices66812 жыл бұрын
You need keyless open / start, don't have to touch the fob once. The paddles are great for slowing without brakes. The steering is light in comfort mode and a lot stiffer in dynamic mode. The door open beeping you can stop by pushing one of the two arrow buttons on the left of the steering controls or push the roller button. Something wrong with your tyre pressure system or you have a slow puncture, mine doesn't warn until it has lost more than 5 psi. As for mileage, I have had 32 miles to the gallon on cruise at 73 mph.

Car guys Hello! I'm just watching this again! What are your thoughts on how the residual values will stand up on this one now the new one is looking to hit the market soon? I love these to bits, I've a year old S6 saloon and I'm looking to move on in the not too distant. Thanks lads. Martin.
@TheCarGuysTV5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Martin. Depends on how available the new RS6 is going to be. I think overall the new car looks significantly better than the old one - Audi hasn’t made any obvious gaffs that would upset the loyal RS-sters. So I would expect values of the old ones to drop, but not fast, as it’s still a mighty car, and obv can be had for £80k less than the new one .
@martinofleeds5 жыл бұрын
TheCarGuys.TV Thanks for the reply. As a Yorkshire Man I'm inherently Careful (not tight!) so More times than not I'll pick up a car with a thousand miles on or so. I've done 6000 in the S6 since I've had it (7k on the clock now) and feel it's time for a change. The current RS6 is a car I've converted for a long time. I prefer the exterior looks of it to The incoming version to be honest. How much more quicker it would be to the S6 would be interesting to compare. The S6 has the fantastic lightening quick DSG gear box but I00 bhp down. I don't feel the S6 true Bhp may have been played down to protect the RS6 a little. I must be coincidental that the output is exactly the same figure as the current rs4/rs5 even the s6 has 2 more cylinders and 1000cc over the two Smaller rs models. The current RS6 on a year old is holding better money than a E63s & M5 comp as it goes. I'm steering towards one of those two if I'm honest partly because they're more recent models and less likely to be refreshed anytime soon. Also the interiors are on current point & they won't suffer the possible price drop like the RS6 could. Aghhhhhh my head hurts......
@Billywoo125 жыл бұрын

Love mine, and I've had it since 2014! You're wrong about the key fob though, you can absolutely keep it in your jeans or jacket pockets and open the locked door by just grabbing the door handle; if you can't, there's something off (perhaps a weak battery in the key fob?). I ticked most boxes (everything sport related, including the Dynamic package which replaces the standard air suspension), but the one factory option I regret not having added is the alcantara inside roof; it was quite expensive I thought then (~€25K), but it definitely adds an aura of exclusivity (I have it in other cars). The C7 RS6 is a great car, and for me personally the newer C8 RS6 isn't as appealing, with its much more aggressive and frankly slightly vulgar design (and added OPF filters).

The 4k for replacement calipers is most likely an avoidable scenario. When Damian mentioned that the Audi dealer couldn't remove the calipers, what actually happens is the steel pins that hold the pads into the alloy calipers on brembo monoblocks can seize due to the dissimilar metals and general corrosion. This can be rectified without replacement of the calipers. I know this as I am an ex Audi dealer technician and now a German car specialist. It's not rocket science, but some mechanics and dealers can be a bit anal about these things and not think about the customers pocket.
@FourRingsAuto5 жыл бұрын

I have a B7 RS4 that I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine, so I feel your pain. I've been filming the process of disassembly and findings and will upload to my channel once edited etc. Maybe someone will find it interesting...

Be cool if you could beg, borrow or steal a 2019 rs6 and do a comparison this year. 🤔

The Bluetooth defaults to the first alphabetical song in your music library. So yours is Woody Allen. I had to delete ABC by the Jackson 5 from my iTunes, as my M4 would always play that tune on starting up.

I just don't understand why it needs to do that - who ever needs it to do that?

TheCarGuys.TV How many miles on the 458? Is it your experience that they all have major issues around 20K mi, so those in the market for a used one should avoid those in high Teens? Highest current mileage on market 40K but don’t know if they hold value after 20K, and how much one would eat if he bought one at 30/40K and tried to sell at 60K.

I would suggest you put an Akrapovic exhaust on it, it will completely transform the car and is offered through Audi dealers so no issues whatsoever. I have it on my RS6 performance and have driven other identical cars without it, trust me its well worth the investment.

I’ve had it on my car since I got it, 20k miles ago and have had absolutely no issues regarding droning at highway speeds. When the valves are shut its no more intrusive than the regular exhaust.

Your car problem didn't have the nearside wheel curbed though...

The fan sound cant be any worse than that from a Audi 200 cooling down.
