I bought a 2018 S1 last year because they are so rare in the UK and immediately got an Abt tune to take it up to 310PS. Acceleration in 4th gear is absolutely insane as it now has so much torque. I managed to scare a TT RS the other day at least for a few seconds and I think people think it's a RS3 or RS4 when they see it coming towards them in their rear view mirrors on the motorway. I'm also growing to like the engine sound, and I'm glad mine doesn't have the comedy pops and bangs.

My thoughts exactly. Thats sgit is overplayed and overdone its just fucking annoying for everyone. A good pop here and there on downshift is nice, but constant rifle noise at each throttle change...

I agree this is way to extreme. But I bought the same car with 340hp and a top speed of 285km/h. Also a different exhaust and the pops and bangs are never boring. Addicting is what they are.

Those constant pops and bangs are just annoying, it gotta be a special tune so it does it all the time ... it's way more enjoyable if you have a high horse power car and it does pops and bangs occasionally on it's own after giving a lot of power than having it tuned so it does it every time you go off the gas pedal.

the difference is immense. In stock S1, noise is not very lourd, and turbo has feelable lag. More of that, at high rpm, engine feels empty... So, you play everytime in low rpm to feel the acceleration. It is such a great car, but it becomes a monster with only stage 1 & sachs clutch

The few times I drive a manual and it has a "normal" clutch pedal (Long throw or what ever it's called). Press the clutch, give some gas and release the clutch...... Nothing happens.... Release the clutch some more..... Still nothing happens.... Starting to wonder if the car ever is gonna start rolling..... :p I'm used to the Mini Cooper S '04 clutch btw.

Does this have a K04 turbo? I don't know how an EA888 can make 320HP without a K04 turbo upgrade and tune. Unless this is the updated Gen 3 EA888 found in the MK7 GTI which can make 360 HP on the stock turbo. I have a Gen 2 EA888 which is limited to about 285 hp on the stock K03 turbo.
