Same fault on my car, VCDS also telling me there's a voltage issue so it could be a connector needing a clean. Thanks for making such a well laid out video with tools indicated so that I can make sure I have them all to hand. Only improvement I can suggest is adding a drop of blue loctite thread locking fluid on steering wheel bolt as it seems to have had some from factory and is a safety precaution.

Hi. Great tutorial. I changed only steering angle sensor for a working used one without the whole spring ring. It cost me coupe bucks and thanks to yours tutorial took me 20 minutes.

majin1617 Hi, Thanks, glad it helped, I reckon mine had a problem with the clock spring & not the sensors, I made the video as the cleaning seems to work for some, regards Si

I forgot to point out, if the battery is disconnected, some engine management settings can be lost, this should be checked with diagnostic computer

Hi there first of all I would like to say good walk thourght. I have this problem i suspect a broken steering angle sensor as I have had same issues with vw Passat b5.5. After replacing the sensor did you have to calibrate it. I am curious as I will be doing this job soon. I have a a copy of vcds. Cheers mate 👍

Hi, sorry for delay, only just found your question, no calibration needed as long as you don't turn the sensor when removed, kind regards, Simon

I have an Audi A4 2003 modell with the same issue. You don’t have to code anything after you changed the sensor?
@PitStakProductions2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thankfully no, if the sensor is kept in the same position & ignition isn’t switched on until finished

This sensor was flagged up for my cars mot. engine management light abs n stability control all on waiting on it arriving. Brilliant video did u have to calibrate the sensor?

Hi, no calibration required with new sensor, comes with locking tab, remove once fitted, good luck 😉

Could a poorly aligned steering wheel, ie wheels are correct but steering wheel is off to the side cause the light to come on and off and the code denotes steering angle sensor

As I have no experience of this, unfortunately I couldn’t say for sure but I wouldn’t think so as the computer has no actual reference of road wheel position, only steering wheel position 🤔
