Man as a big guy myself, I felt every bit of that cabin filter replacement. I have prepaid for the $30K and $40K service, but have already changed out the brakes and plan to do an oil change soon. Thanks for the great videos.

@@DmitrysGarage I had to change the one in my wife's Chrysler today and it was way easier than this and it was still a giant pain. I could either see what I was doing or use my hands. So I just had to do parts of it by feel.

Thank you so much for this, dealership was charging me $250 for cabin air filter!
@DmitrysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Wow that's absolute robbery! I'm not surprised though, this is why some people wind up ditching their cars at the bigger (higher miles) service intervals that get into the thousands of dollars. Dealer offers to take it in as a trade on a new car ("We'll keep your payment the same!") and then does the service cheap and flips it. Glad I could save you a bit of cash :).

You just saved $150 dollars easy!

Thank you for this video, it was extremely helpful. I’m used to popping out the glove box to change these filters. Pulled a muscle, but got it done. Lol

Completely agree with you on being a big guy working on interior stuff…I felt like my car beat the 💩 out of me when I hardwire my dash cam! That steering wheel is all kinds of impressive, along with the rest of the car. I’m just over here in a 10th Gen Civic, but I have a nice leather flat bottom wheel, that I think changes the whole look and feel. Oh and it has a 12 o’clock red ring. My intake and turbo are loving these colder temps up north this time of year. That’s be cool to hear and see in yours! As for this video…it’s INSANE what you can get quoted for a job at the stealership. My wife thought the rear defroster in her 4Runner was broke while she was on a trip and called me from their service bay saying it was gonna be $120, because they had to take off a panel. I had her hang up and check the fuse box…guess what had a blown fuse😡

Haha yea it's terrible being a big guy inside a floorboard of a car. Flat bottom steering wheels are definitely pretty cool. It's my first car with one and I know the Civics have had some pretty cool tech too. Dealers are definitely making most their money on service. That's how they get you. Ideally if you can avoid using them for service that will be the best deal. Unfortunately more and more manufacturers are trying to make cars more proprietary to force dealer service on their customers. I refuse to deal with that, I'd rather just figure out how to move past it. I'll post up some videos of the audi with the turbo noises now that I've made my series of mods ;). Look out for more videos soon!

Hello ! Can You help me please, i have the same car and the a/c started to smell quite bad. I already replaced the cabin filter and wanted to spray the outside intake, but i just cant find it. In the older models it is right under the windshield, but in this model i cannot find it.

I’m wondering if you know any Canadian alternatives to ECS? Sadly ECS charges a lot of extra money shipping to Canada and import fees etc. thank you!

Wish I knew, sorry. Maybe for stock parts FCP Euro?

I just received my filter from your link and the air flow sign is backward from what’s expected. The fuzzy material would be on the outside facing the seat and the previous filter had the fuzzy material facing inside towards the engine. Is it possible the airflow arrow was printed wrong? I assume you want the fuzzy material to trap the dust. Thanks for the awesome video!!!
@DmitrysGarage Жыл бұрын
That's weird! So you compared the two and the arrows were facing different directions? The prior owner may have had it backwards. It should be installed same direction as in my video. I doubt they would misprint the arrow unless the other filter may be wasn't OEM?
@alexcrocker7111 Жыл бұрын
@@DmitrysGarage thanks for the reply! Previous installation had it installed the same as you demonstrated. I ended up just ignoring the arrow and assuming it was a misprint 🤷🏻♂️ I figure the fuzzy material should trap the dust and it is facing the air inlet. no issues yet!

I actually ran into this as well, removed factory Mahle filter, going to install a Mann filter I bought. The materials on the filter vs the arrows are reversed - exact same filter construction otherwise. I’m going to use this as an experiment as the HVAC became musty smelling, pretty quick. I’ll See if it’s any better with the filter this way..

if this uses the same engine as a 2019 b9 sq5, will this air filter work as well?
@DmitrysGarage2 жыл бұрын
Joe, not sure about the sq5. It is the same engine but I think they have a different air box setup if memory serves. I would definitely check the part number.
