The d3 s8 is one of the best cars for under 10k by far! My best friend just picked up an 07 S8 v10 w 160k miles, sport package, luxury package, fully loaded for 8500$ it's an absolute blast to drive, rides like a cloud, and out of the hole it's fast af, can't wait until he puts an exhaust and tune on his.

@@procanvas Unfortunately yes, but just neglected general maintenance on the previous owners end. He's spent prob close to $1k on parts since the purchase , my labor I didn't charge him nothing but beer and some herb to smoke on lol . I had to pull the intake and clean the carbon off the valves, his intake had broken flaps inside it but we just removed them instead of buying a new intake (which has been fine btw, some people say don't remove them but I did and he's put over 1k miles on it no issues) , changed the oil , it holds 10qts oil BTW, Also had to replace leaky valve cover gaskets, put in new iridium sparkplugs gap .038 and he got all 10 coil packs for under 200 brand new and I replaced them as well. Also put 2 new k & n drop in filters. When we first purchased it, it was missing on cold starts but once it warmed up it ran better but after doing the carbon cleaning, removing the intake flaps, change plugs, coils , plugs , filters it's a whole new beast. I thought it was quick when we first went and bought it but after all the maintenance it runs extremely better. If you can do the labor yourself I'd say go for it, if your gonna have to pay someone to work on it then be prepared to spend some money. I did prob 2k+ in labor for next to nothing, the carbon clean job alone they wanted 1300 to do it, he spent 100 on the chemical, 130 oem gaskets , and nothing on labor for it. Good luck , their great cars once their running right.

I got one in 2020, 08’ S8, for $4,800. No misfires nothing , but the engine mounts were worn. That’s it. I put about 5000 miles on it . I did my due diligence , the car was 1 owner dealer maintained with carbon and tune done by the guy who sold it to me . I did oil changes filters , lowering links , spacers and added JHM lightweight crank pulley, oh and I deleted 2 resonators . It had a new intake manifold replaced at 125k , so I know it’s good for at least 75-100k . Also it hold 11.5 quarts of oil.

Mainly issues surrounding the engine tbh seeing its a big complicated lump Air suspension as well most likely As long as you maintain it well and not too cheaply it will be a joy to own I’ve experienced 2 D3 S8’s and they are special cars

Simon z is right the m5 e60 is hella unreliable they’re fast asf but I have a e39 m5 and came from a 2009 Audi s8 they are reliable as hell I bought mine with 110k miles sold it with 180k no issues what do ever and that guy is still happy with it

The only thing about the s8 that I don't like double exhausts, I like them more if they would make them two exhausts like the rs range, but rightly the Audi's models are all with double exhausts. Still great video.

Yes but the two exhaust pipes are RS specific and technically the S8 ist an S Model so it has the S specific 4 pipes

Guys s8 has a lamborghini galardo engine believe it or not! The year that audi bought lamborghini (2008 i think) it used the same engine for both the galardo and the s8 so if you buy an s8 you have the same power as you bought a galardo for less money 😉👍

It is the same engine but lambo is tuned to produce 520hp instead of 450 un the s8

@@gorangatineau quick Stage 1 sorts that out. I had it done on my car and it feels a touch more powerful. You can get a stage 2 and that takes you close to 600HP.

VAG 5.0 was judged too sporty for a 4dr sedan so they decided Tq was more important than Hp & did the 5.2. It is the same block just assembled with different rods piston etc. Also neither of the e60 m5 or this is reliable... I've seen more A8/S8 in the junkyard than on the road these last year lol

@@Marius_Air32 they are different engines. the audi has some lamborghini stamps on it and thats it. audi has many 4.2 v8s. the b7 rs4 has the BNS 4.2 v8. the b8 rs4 has the CFSA 4.2 v8, the rs5 has the CFSA 4.2 aswell. BBK, ABZ, AHC are also 4.2 v8s, but they are not in any RS audi. the r8 has a different 4.2 v8 thats the BYH and the CNDA.
