This is the best timing there is! I was learning for my exam for tomorrow, and boom, in the afternoon, you upload this video. I am watching it now, in the evening, to unwind from learning and to relax. I love interior detailing, it makes the difference between a car feeling like just a transportation means or a true "home". Good to see you found a use for the really small purple towels after all! Good use of sound at 15:41, it's just as relaxing as bird chirping to me!

I love how closely you watch my videos. You picked up on two details that many wouldn't. Those little "eaglet" towels are perfect for the console and instrument cluster and the sound of that drain capturing the water is pure music to my ears! I couldn't have done that without the drain because the temperatures were freezing on the other side of the door so I would have had ice issues.

Well, to me, detailing is all in the details haha. Yeah I remember the earlier videos in which you used the blue bucket to catch the water, this is far better!

Really nice job Rick. I think that's the dirtiest we've ever seen your vehicle inside. Nice refresh to that fabulous Audi. I absolutely love that quilted leather interior. That's gorgeous. It's amazing what a couple hours of time and effort can do to bring back an interior with the right products and tools to like new condition or better. That Lithium Inner Space looks like it did a really nice job cleaning up the plastics and interior pieces. Nice matte finish too which I prefer. It doesn't look greasy or "fake", it just looks.....well......RIGHT! I have the Lithium Hyper Cleanse which is great. I think Inner Space may be a better option as it both cleanses AND conditions the interior. Hyper Cleanse is more of just a straight cleaner. Actually you could use Hyper Cleanse for the heavier soiling and then use Inner Space as a follow up and also any area that isn't badly soiled. I like the fact Inner Space has some conditioning properties to it. I am definitely going to give that one a try once I run out of my current interior products. Lithium Auto Elixirs have some great products for reasonable prices too.
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
Inner Space is a nice product. It brought life back to even the hardest of plastic surfaces. The seat back and kick panels have never looked so good. When this interior is immaculate, it is one of the nicest I have ever seen. The first time I heard of Tuxmats was on a comment on this video. I looked into them. They are currently out of stock for the SQ5, but after close inspection they don't have a deep enough lip that they are going to prevent water from coming over the edge and finding its way to the carpet under my front seats. What’s your go to on wiping gauge cluster plastics to avoid scratches? What about fixing scratches?
@WEDEL013 жыл бұрын
I use a household fluffy duster, the ones you can buy refills for. They don’t seem to scratch. A Detailer I follow on Instagram used a medium cut polish on the clear plastic, but I wouldn’t be that brave. I’m going to try Meguiars Polish on mine.
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
My new "go to" is using an edgless TRC eaglet MF towel like the lavender one shown in this video with a light spritz of a good glass cleaner. Fixing scratches is a rabbit hole I don't want any part of. I guess you could get in there with a longneck Rupes iBrid Nano but I would fear making things worse. That's one of the true pro's imo.

Hi there. I use a wide variety of leather cleaning products. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of leather protector products. I find they don't really provide me with true protection and I worry about their lasting impact on the leather. That said, I have used Leather Shield by Gyeon a few times. I guess it is probably my favourite for when I feel the need to apply a leather protector.
@krisa5t7252 ай бұрын
@@RADGarage so you thing protection is not nessecery?
@RADGarage2 ай бұрын
I guess it would depend on how dirty the leather in your vehicle becomes and how much time there is between thorough cleanings. I am very particular so I am cleaning my leather interior on a much more frequent basis than the average car owner. Adding some leather shield can't really hurt, I just don't derive much satisfaction from them.

how much time did it take for a detail like this?
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
I was taking my time to set up each shot so the whole project took many hours. Without the video, this would’ve taken me an hour.

Good one, but what are these towels for? 18:49
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
Because the lip is so shallow on that edge of the mats, water tends to escape the mat area and get into the carpet. Wouldn’t be a huge deal if it weren’t for the salt in the water. These towel shards absorb that water and protect my carpet from the salt.

Great video Rick. The adams interior mitt has to be one of my favourite tools.. how’s the lithium line?
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
That Lithium Inner Space made the mundane task of cleaning hard plastic interior surfaces fun and rewarding. That says it all imo. I am going to buy a second Adam's scrubbing mitt and cut it up into smaller pieces for the smaller/tighter jobs.

@@RADGarage that's a good plan. I've been wanting to cut up my old Adams wash mitt from 10 years ago and use it for wheels. I like being creative 👌🏻

I'd like to take it even a step further by somehow fastening a portion to a round applicator pad.
@Buckyvw3 жыл бұрын
@@RADGarage I've seen people use a 3" mf pad on a da in interiors and that's a decent idea!

Tremendous job and awesome vid! I own the same car ! How long does it take you to clean the inside up? Regards from Switzerland 🇨🇭

Hi Alex! Nice to hear from a fellow SQ5 driver. I took my time with this video, but if I did all that work without shooting the video, it would take me an hour or so. With the video, it took about three.

Thanks for your feedback Rick! It takes me an hour too, but it doesn’t get that clean... I wish I had a garage like yours! Keep the good job up! Cheers mate

Honestly, the garage is the star of the show. Without it, I couldn't achieve half of what I'm able to achieve. It allows me to be fully equipped, efficient and just comfortable.

Can you use Lithium Inner Space on Touch Screen?
@RADGarage3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t. There’s some ingredients in there that could leave your screen streaky. I am partial to using dedicated streak-free glass cleaners on screens. NV Clarity, CarPro Clarify, Gyeon Glass etc.
