Hey Rick! Thanks for your feedback on this flooring. I found it from our previous conversation these last two days. Now that you’ve had some time…are you liking the Swisstrax over the Racedeck? The overflow is what I was looking at. Plus they quoted me a little cheaper than Swisstrax. But I’m more about quality over cheap or discounts.
@RADGarageКүн бұрын
I would not go so far as to say you have to go with Swisstrax. Personally, I think it is a more robust product, but the other one is pretty good too. Had they not blocked me on Instagram, I may use actually their name but this is a weird world we live in.

Great video Rick! I’m thinking about installing this flooring in my garage. I saw a video of your drain being installed too. Did you detail before installing the drain? If so did the tiles still work good for that? I don’t have a drain in mine but trying to find a way to still do detailing including washing in my garage. Thank you again!
@RADGarage2 күн бұрын
@@stevecharnasjr.7241 Hi Steve. The Swisstrax floor is a lightning rod of controversy. I did wash in my garage prior to installing a tile floor. The natural pitch of my floor ensures the water flows out the door onto the driveway. The drain now ensures no water hits the driveway and collects in my catch basin. What happens to water on your floor now will continue to happen, just under the tiles. How’s the pitch of your floor?
@stevecharnasjr.72412 күн бұрын
@@RADGarage yeah I’ve been seeing that, but it looks cool and less expensive for me than epoxy. The floor slightly pitches to the door by 1/2” to maybe 3/4” by the time you hit the door.
@RADGarageКүн бұрын
Epoxy begins to deteriorate the second it is installed. Swisstrax will last forever. Did you ever catch my video about my Top 10 reasons I chose Swisstrax?

@@RADGarage yeah I hear mixed things about. I help a guy out every once in awhile installing the epoxy and it looks good, but still don’t think it’s the best for me. no I haven’t seen that video. But I will go look for it and check it out. Thank you!!!

Incredible job on an incredible car, thanks for sharing Rick! Love 911's, they've been my dream car ever since I was a kid. I don't think I could get foam that thick even if I used pure soap in the foam cannon! It looks like the wheels had a coating on as well, is that the case? Hi Rads garage., I'm Trace from Texas. I do mobile detailing in the scratching heat and the water here is very heavy. I don't do cars that often and I also don't get lots of cars. Sometimes I don't do cats for two months.. can you recommend a water softener.?

@RADGarage4 күн бұрын
So, I spoke with a friend that I consider an expert in this area. I'll paraphrase some of the points he made: - Tricky to make a recommendation without knowing the source water's quality which probably changes everyday with a mobile detailer unless they use a tank that is filled from their water. - He suggests reaching out to a filter rental company as for a business it’s the most cost effective.

As a DIY enthusiast (taking care of my two personal vehicles), I either do a “Rinseless” wash, which I use no hose at all for a maintenance wash or a full Foam/Rinse/Foam/Etc wash if the vehicle is really dirty. For me, if I’m pulling out the pressure washer and hose, I’m going full Foam!! :) Question: With Rinseless and All-Clean pre-treat…is it ok to use the decon towel to help remove bugs from the front of the vehicle??? Side note: 3 rinses in the “rinse less” method doesn’t seem fair. Personally (and completely my opinion), Rinseless is for zero hose use. Thanks for the content Rick!!…a fellow foam lover.
@RADGarage4 күн бұрын
Lots to unpack there. There are definitely occasions where the foam cannon is coming out. I have recently picked up some foaming and continuous sprayers from Marolex so if and when I decide to do a rinseless, the PW can simply observe. As for using the Decon towel to remove bugs, as long as it was cleaned thoroughly after I don't see why not. In this video, we went one rinse further than necessary since we extended the scope to include a decon along with a water-spot-removal. But, point taken. Yvan makes the point often that rinse "less" washes don't mean no rinsing, just less. It seems everyone has their own take on the process.
