Damn that's a big ass job. About 10 years I had a buddy in school to be a mechanic and I got him to do this on my mk4 jetta for an 8th of weed haha. Turns out it was a pretty good deal on my end!

What year is the car? And what made you not replace the balance shafts themselves?

2015, the balance shift issue was prominent with the b7 2.0 engines, this gen doesn’t seem to be reporting back the same issue and this car never passes 3500 rpm. chains are known to stretch so why not do that atleast.

Kid doing the wrenching needs to close mouth open eyes and ears, knows what he’s doing but still a lot to be learned. Also someone tell him his torque elbow isn’t quite there and the fact that the wrench instantly clicks means Everytning has been overtorqued.
