You’re basically a full on mechanic now mate! Unbelievable no way in the world would I attempt anything like that. Well done for persisting and getting the job done hope the dreaded light stays off. Very impressed with your knowledge of what all those bits were and more importantly that you managed to put it all back together again. Bloody well done 👍

After watching that, I’ve never been happier to of let the garage deal with it and not try to do it on my driveway haha! Great video Andy, cheers

Thanks for watching Matt! Yes it was a massive pain in the backside but also satisfying to get done. We have got to keep these wonderful 3.2s on the road!

@@andycharger oh I bet, going to start the job of sorting the underneath of mine this weekend, she’s in need of a refresh as things like the shocks I think are definitely the originals

My Car has got to go in garage for a service and "Extras"...when i saw this vid listed I thought since the oil filter is coming off might as well do the pressure sensor...then i watched vid....holy mother.........thats a lot of labour for a £5 part to be replaced 😂, and since mine still works i will leave it. Well done for having a go at this Andy that looks like a mare of a job....You need to patent that spanner! When i do need to get this done I will send a link for this vid to the garage!

WOW!! now that is one heck of a crap job, feel your pain mate & can appreciate how much harder it is to film the process at the same time. Fair play mate

That job looks like a bit of a nightmare (well above my pay grade) so well done for persisting with it. Glad that the new sensor has resolved the issue.

Hi Andy, my Alternator has just given up the fight...it too looks like a nightmare to access on the 3.2 and front end off with Rad pack , I'm getting JBS in Chesterfield to do it , battery red light stayed on I've just replaced the battery as well ! There's 100s of parts around the engine bay on these.

Hi Richard. In my video you will see I loosen the alternator so I think it is fairly easy to remove. Thanks for watching the channel buddy 👍

I don't have 3.2 but found this video interesting and always find your how to videos really well explained and useful. Fair play with the DIY tool solution, do you think a crow foot socket and extension would work as an alternative?

Thanks for the kind words Chris. I expect you could persevere with the crowd foot but unfortunately do not own one. So I had to improvise!

Hi Andy, many thanks for this video, I’ve been trawling the internet for weeks trying to find info on the 3.2 oil switch as have the dreaded red oil can & beeps, so when this popped up the other day it was like manna from heaven…..until I watched it!!! Would you recommend going straight to removing the front end rather than all the work at the start of the video with serpentine belt and pump work? Or do you still need to do all of that? Did you test your oil pressure first or just replace pressure switch? Regards, David

Hi David. Thanks for the feedback. Part of the reason I filmed it was that there is literally no info on removing the sensor on the 3.2 anywhere online! My advice would be to take the front end off first anyhow. You might have enough access in front even with the various hoses and pipes from SA pump or can push them to the side. Plus it avoids all the removal of pumps, belts and fixings that are difficult to access. If I was doing it again I would start with the front removal to see if the underneath can be avoided. I did not test the pressure or the switch as I did not have a gauge but the new switch has been fine. Let me know how you get on!!!👍

@@andycharger Hi Andy, well, what a job that is! It didn’t start well with the undertray, only 3 bolts and the 4 plastic side screws holding it on. Annoying as has been in to main Audi garage for oil change without mention of so many missing fixings! One bolt holding top of bumper on sheared off and a number of torx screws disintegrated. Dismantled slam panel and pulled forwards with radiator/condenser in place. Couldn’t find sensor and had to get the farm mechanic to find it. Visibility of sensor was difficult. I didn’t need to do anything from underneath. Used a 24mm crows foot spanner with short extension on ratchet. My main problems were detaching the electrical connection as it would not lift off until in a certain position due to all the gubbins around it. This was only possible after loosening the sensor and after releasing the clip, turning the sensor and pulling up on the connector until I found a spot where it lifted out. Next problem was getting it back in, the new sensor was 22mm and I didn’t have a 22mm crows foot! Various 22mm spanner’s later and I managed to get one to fit. A deep socket wouldn’t work as you can’t get the ratchet on. Then replacing the connector I had the release clip facing me and struggled to get the connector upright enough to slide on to the sensor but eventually it slipped on then I tightened the sensor up. Thanks again for the video, it was a great help. Next job is repairing one of the power steering lines that showed itself once the undertray was off!

Great video Andy. As ever Audi buries everything deep inside the engine bay for a simple component creating lots of chargeable workshop hours. Curious to know if the "oil pressure" warning light had an associated ECU / OBD fault code logged?

Thanks David. Interestingly no error code thrown with it! Little breakfast meet in your neck of the woods next Sunday if you are around?
