Audi/VW ACC, Lane assist: No camera vision Free fix! (code C1107)

After a LOT of research I may have found a semi-permanent to possibly longer term fix for the "Video Cable for Image Processing
C1107 02 [009] - Signal Failure" code we are all having.
This is applicable to Audi A6/A7 (C7 & C7.5), Q5, Q7, Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne (possibly Macan as well) and maybe more.
This method would have not been possible without the video by @rossmanngroup made many years ago explaining the chip heating process.
I strongly recommend watching it prior to carrying out this repair at your own risks.

As mentionned in the video please make sure to do the following FIRST prior to messing with your camera:
1-SCAN YOUR CAR AND GET YOUR ERROR CODES!
2-check your fuses (A7 & A11 on driver side fusebox)
3- Test cable continuity with a multimeter from the camera(J852) to the imaging module(J851) under the passenger side carpet.
4- If cable is not bad, proceed with the work explained in my video at your own risk.
This was a quick video I made in order to test the theory. Please excuse the poor video edit and some improper terms I may have said during this video. Documenting and explaining all of this was a very last minute decision.

Not only did you save me a couple thousand dollars you saved me more! I just used your tutorial to fix BOTH of my 2014 A8 L TDI’s that were exhibiting the same ACC error. What should I say?! Thank you so much!!! I just saw your video and thought „so ok let’s remove the camera and look into it“ While I standing there with my heat gun I was smiling to my self and my thoughts were „I will heat it up for a few minutes but I am sure I am not so lucky to fix the problem with that method“ Anyway I heated it up for 7 minutes, then reassembled everything and started my VCDS to erase the fault codes. Afterwards I did a testdrive and everything worked well!!! This is so amazing!!! This was the most money saving repair in such a short time I ever did. I wholeheartedly thank you for the guide that I found on the forum and you saved me from this problem. I set the temperature to 220 degrees Celsius and heated it very close to about half a centimeter for 2.30 minutes and the error disappeared. I couldn't have coped without you. Audi a6 c7 2012,after vcds scanner I took apart the whole car for the fault. Found water marks in right side where is the image module,but no fix. At about 10pm,drinking a beer after a day of work I found your video. Amtech flux,380 degrees and my car is back to life again. I can’t remember the faults but you are the best! Cheers mate 🍺🍺🍺

I just spent the whole weekend pulling my wife's car apart, shark fins roof lining door sills roof consoles numerous panels to try diagnose and rule out EVERYTHING I had read on threads. I was at my witts end, the final thing I was going to tackle was the front radar sensors. I sat down inside with a beer to watch the footy and somehow came across this video. I tried with a small blowtorch first couldn't control the heat input to well, re-fitted and got the dreaded ding ding 😢 went down the street and bought a heat gun, followed the steps precisely, re-fitted and OH MY GOSH IT HAS WORKED 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 what an absolute legend!

OMG, I just tried today, and it worked. Man you don’t know for how long I’ve been trying to fix this thing. Please try this but with 200 degrees Celsius for about 4 minuts, and the rest is history. You guys don’t have anything to lose, just try it. Thank you again!🥳🥳🥳

This fix just saved me $2500! Thanks!!! This totally worked. I recommend holding the heat gun about 3 inches above the chip and changing it to different angles as you heat. It’s the best way to evenly heat the surface.

Bought an A6 Quattro one week ago. $12999 and negotiated to 7k because of these issues. Came home, studied your video FOR A WEEK and drummed up enough courage to do it. ALL ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAMERA ARE GONE! Need to say thanks so much for this video! I did this today and heated the chip for 7 minutes, reinstalled the camera, and my ACC on my 2012 A7 is now working for the first time in about 2 years. Took my car to Audi recently who told me the part is no longer available and that if I was able to find one the calibration would be $600. Hope everyone that has this issue with their ACC finds out about this and is able to save themselves a lot of headache by doing this.

Dude you are the Man! I had this on my 2015 A8L, fixed it following instructions in your video. At first it didn't work, because I didn't use enough heat. I barely got my heat gun to 200F°. After that I just set it to medium, didn't check temp, and blasted it for 7 minutes, the whole aluminum case got hot to the touch, barely able to hold finger for 3 seconds, went to install it again and was shocked, no warnings came up, and cruise started working, everything was back to normal. half hour fix for my 2015 Touareg v6 Lux. I cut a postage stamp hole in a pie tin to use as heat shield and used a heatgun on low for 3.5 minutes.

Holy crap! My car has had this problem for two years, just saw this video and re-flowed my chip with hot air and flux, everything works again, I am amazed right now thank you so much FYI, use flux helps solder melt and flow better I was getting codes C1107 and C1104

That is Incredible. I have a 2012 Audi A8L with the same C110702 Invalid signal to image processor. I saw the link to this video on an Audi Forum. My God, I did exactly and thought while doing it, there is no way this will work....Guess what I Was 100% Wrong. It worked from first time. I used an infrared temp gun and heat gun at lower level. Average temp 150 to 200 foe 5 minutes and must use the aluminum foil to shield the board. After cooling for 5.minutes then reinstalled (needs some pressure and thin flat head screw driver to unlock the tabs) connected and all the Permanent errors became passive and I deleted them and everything worked...thank You so Much for making this incredible video. THANK YOU!!!!!

Sotam, I just completed your process and put the unit back in and it works!!! I hope it stays that way. Unfortunately, some of the plastic tabs broke off on taking the unit out. They were very brittle and easily broke off. But the module is staying in and I have to figure out a way to secure it better. The dealer wanted $2800 and charged me $200 for the diagnostic-which I had to fight to get. By the way I also have a 2014 A7 TDI. Thank you so much for your help.

I am so amazed by your mileages wow, after 211464 kilometers, at full tank your car is giving 929km where it already driven 95 km. What major engine work you have faced or done so far like timing chain or coolant flange replacement the one which is behind front engine cover? And since it is TDI, have you done or faced DPF cleaning? Please share history of this car. I recently purchased 2016 A7 TDI and after spending enough on parts and doing most of the services on my own, and while driving only highway long distances, my car gives only 720km max. I recently replaced timing chain. Again pease share your car secrets... lol.

I also mainly do highway driving, i recently got a DPF delete/stage 2 malone tune as my extended emissions warranty from audi was over. I would get about 800-850 before doing the delete. I also cleaned the intake pipe between the two throttle bodies twice already..it gets dirty fairly quickly

Every model of audi is different, even if they are using the same camera module. My A8L I had to remove the light pod from the headliner, and I removed the mirror as well, but technically unnecessary, I just did it to have more room.

Wow. Amazing video. My english is bad but, im gonna coment. I hace the same problem. I cánt reset de errors code in odis. I check the same cable with multimeter, the original is good. I get other cable and the same problem. Now im going to do that amigo. Just i ask youis to hard to get out the camera?. Thx for this video

You will see the camera is wedged into tge plastic windshield plate. If you pay attention to the 4 tabs on the camera housing you will see that you need to pull toward you and downwards slightly.. Its hard to explain but if you look at the 4 mounting tabs you will understand what i mean. 👍

Please watch the complete video (you clearly didnt). You issue is not the same and probably is regarding the radars and not the camera

@@zSkandal do you have vcds in order to scan the car yourself? If you dont have the exact codes i listed its not the problem. There is no calibration that needs to be done. Calibration is only for the radars.

@@Sotam123 I checked it with VCDS from a friend. I don't know the exact error code but the error message was "sensor detached" so I went to Audi - the recalibrated and did a Check on the Audi tester afterwards to say that my camera in the windshield is broken. So something clearly doesn't add up here.
