I have a 2010 Audi Q5 Quattro and one of the back doors wouldn’t unlock using the Key Fob. I pulled that cover off and compared it to the other back door and sure enough, they were in different positions. I turned it to match the other door and now it works perfectly fine! Thank you so much for your short and to the point video.

DUDE!!!! I just replaced all 4 door lock modules on my 2009 Jetta Sportwagen. I got all the door lock modules from a junkyard, so there was a risk of all not working, but turned out to be only one that didn't work, the left rear door. I was so bummed after hours of work, but after watching your video, discovered I could manually lock that door!!! So excited! Thank you! (this saves me another trip to the junkyard!)

Hell yeah! Works on my B8 A4! Also side note- you don’t have to use a flat head, it’s made to fit your key inside the fob

My 2016 Q3 has had this issue for gosh knows how long. It gives me a lot of anxiety sitting in parking lots as it wouldn’t lock on either front doors. Figured it would cost an arm and a leg. Well. Googled it up and I just won some MAJOR points with my husband ;). Went outside at midnight and had him hold the flashlight. All it took was turning one doors “reset thing you showed”. Bing bang boom… Locked the entire car up like new lol. My husband is so impressed lol! Ty!

OMG! This worked for my A3. I was so bummed out thinking I would have to pay to get my door repaired. Thanks so much!

For me, it was the driver's door that stopped to lock with the remote. Unlike the other 3 doors, there is no adjustable 'switch' underneath the grommet on the driver's door. What solved my problem with inserting the key to manually lock/unlock the car. After a few times, the chirp came back, even when using the remote.

I spent almost an hour looking at videos on KZbin about people taking apart the door, skin and door card to disassemble the locks and window regs. I went out to my mk5 golf and tried this and the door is now locking perfectly. Thank you 👍👍

Just a follow up on this. It worked for me fine for a week but then went back to normal. But now, before I lock it I keep my front door open and click 'unlock' on the fob. Then closer the door click lock and all 5 doors lock everytime

Worked on my Seat Leon mk3, it was always intermittant, i even gave it to the garage for a week once and they couldn't find the fault. Was planning on stripping the door down today and replacing the actuator but lucky I found this. You sir are a legend!

This worked on my 2017 VW Tiguan, which was locking the rear door, but not unlocking it with the remote. I was worried it would be a costly repair, but the door in this video looked just like my Tiguan, and when I twisted that thing, it started working again. Thank you!

A big thanx from me too! The rear lock on my 2009 A3 hadn't worked (the actuator worked but the door wouldn't release using the outside handle) for months and I was just about to go to the trouble and expense of pulling the door apart and replace the mechansim when I watched your video. Within 5 mins, it was working again!! Not quite as straight forward as turning the actuator though - I had to turn the actuator 90 degs clockwise and hold it there while firmly pulling on the door release lever on the inside of the door a few times. This seemed to reset something in the locking mechanism. I closed the door, locked it, then unlocked it and tried opening it from the outside with the handle and.... sucess!! :-) Thanx so much - now I don't have to waste my weekend working on my car!

Yet another Thank You! My actuator failed in the rear passenger door and it was causing non-stop re-locking behavior every time I hit 10mph because the system knew not all the doors were locked. Locking the doors with fab or door controls did nothing to the rear door. Although the actuator isn't fixed I was looking for a temporary solution since I almost never use that door and this worked perfectly and saved me a few hundred $! The controls you demonstrated got the door to lock when it was closed the first time and the system registered all doors locked when I clicked the door control. As long as that door isn't opened again the problem has gone away. Now I know what to do next time the door is open and it has to be reset. Thanks!!

Holy $#!T this worked. Just bought a used Q5. A few days later I learned that the rear passenger door wasn’t locking. I spent $100 on a new actuator, took the whole door apart, then realized I needed a triple square bit for the last two screws. I was looking for some replacement screws since mine were already slightly stripped when I came across this video. Decided to give it a try…. Now I actually get a chirp when I lock the doors. Hopefully I still have time to return the actuator I bought.

It may not last a long, but hopefully it buys you some time.

I kept the latch that I purchased just in case. If I don't hear a chirp when I lock the doors, then I'll know to check it again. We'll see what happens. @@mrmanitoba

Thank you! I turned the white knob fully clockwise on my passenger front door which helped ACTIVATE my passenger rear door which was stuck locked after the actuator went out and child lock was ON. THANK YOU!
@Banannaise6 жыл бұрын
Worked for me! 2017 A4, rear driver's side door. What you actually found is the emergency door lock mechanism. If you turn that screw to the outside, then shut the door, that will lock the door and prevent it from being opened from the outside until you open it from the inside. Looks like cycling the emergency lock relieves issues with the electronic door lock actuator, at least temporarily.

Very interesting adjustment feature you've revealed here. What I believe that adjuster does is adjust the setting/triggering of the small micro switch located in that area of the lock. The VW Polo locks can also be troublesome and central locking misfunctions. Quite often it is the micro switch failing to operate properly that causes issues with central locking. It seems on these later locks that an improvement of a micro switch adjuster has been added by the manufacturer.

Thank you soooo much! This solved my problem. I have a 2006 Jetta turbo. Same exact issue with passenger rear door. I didn't have a knob to twist but I did pull off the little black plastic tab and shoved my flat head screw driver in there and it immediately engaged the lock. Now the door locks but doesn't unlock with my remote. I can still open it from the inside. My main concern was locking all doors. Thanks!

It’s not an adjustment btw. It’s just a manual mechanical lock/unlock knob. You can basically nudge the sticky automated mechanism inside to either lock or unlock position. They’re known to jam or stick unfortunately.

Like Jeremy mentioned earlier, this helps lock door once. But then, after I unlock it from inside, all locks just go nuts! All of them may stop locking or unlocking (driver door always unlocks). Or maybe just the bad door stays locked and other don't lock at all. Or they lock and bad door does not. Then, after walking around, opening and closing doors, pushing on remote a lot, they suddenly may start working (except the bad one). The way they are related to each other somehow is really bad design.
