Gold Star families have made an emotionally charged address at the Republican National Convention - leaving the audience in tears as they spoke of the loved ones they lost who were killed during an attack in Afghanistan while serving their nation.

I have a daughter in the Navy/ Marines she’s been in for 16 years she did two boot camps and combat training I’m so proud of her but I also know the fear of what could happen and I pray for all the people who are serving our country and the families who are fearful of the times we are living in I now have a grandson who is going into the military he just graduated from high school he is going into the coastguard very soon I’m so proud of him I will be praying for everyone who is in our military and the families I’m so sorry you lost your child 😢😢😢😢😢

As the wife of a wounded warrior and a mom to a son who carries the name of our best man who is listed as KIA (but the story is so much darker), I send these Gold Star families all of my love. I have spent far too many hours holding Gold Star moms as they cry at special military events when the anthem is sung, taps is played, their children are honored, it’s an emotion I can’t even describe. Bless you all and I pray for your hearts to be comforted and for the country that your children gave their lives for never to fall into destruction. That was actually a charitable description of Biden's meeting with the bereaved families when the coffins were flown in. Not only did Biden mostly just blather about his own son dying from cancer, he also kept checking his watch, and showed little interest in the deceased veterans and their families. It was the height of rudeness and insensitivity. It only rubbed salt in these already grieving families' wounds.
