I recently found out that Nintendo's first and only choice for Professor Oak was Robin Williams, but he died before it was greenlit. So they had to change certain parts of the film becuase he was irreplacable

When I went to watch it, the screening room was occupied mostly by grown ups. Then a family with three kids walked in, looked around, and parents looked around in confusion before almost everybody shouted: "No no, it is Pokemon here, you're at the right place" xD

I went to watch this movie in school hours, so, it was only me and my family. All grown ups watching, we had the cinema all for ourselves, the experience wasnt the best in terms of reactions, but, made me enjoy the movie, at least no annoying kids. Finally hollywood got a video game movie right, I loved this movie.

My dad went with me to see this movie and he knows literally nothing about Pokémon. He knows Pikachu and that’s it. He went to make me happy and because the fact that Ryan Renolds was voicing Pikachu absolutely KILLED him. So whenever some odd bit of Pokémon lore was dropped in he looked so bewildered and confused it was great. Comment about Cubone wearing his moms skull: My dad looks at me with an absolute wtf face and whispers“Wait did he just say that’s his moms-“ only to stop at me just nodding and giving him a “yes really, now hush.” Look. Pikachu explaining that Psyduck explodes when stressed: My dad chuckles but glances at me only to see me looking mildly impressed that they included that bit. He becomes very concerned and bewildered at the fact that this is a franchise for kids.

Me when people say that empoleon is in the film but in the end its not (not matter what many said, empoleon will always be my favourite starter(also my first, that's why the attachment ) , plus back when I was 10, I trained mine to lv 100 with surf, hydro cannon, hydro pump and brine, then solo run the league and didn't recharge my pp

It was funny, when my mom and I saw the movie and it was revealed that Ryan Reynolds was the guy's father, my mom was in shocked because she didn't think that Ryan was the dad the whole time

I had mixed feelings on the dad reveal. On one hand, it's a pretty good reveal, all things considered. On the other hand, the game had a totally different ending and kept the dad ambiguous and still missing while keeping Tim and Pikachu continue to be able to talk to each other and had the feeling of the adventure continuing even as the game ended.

I kind of imagined that the script had several moments of what we in the industry call "Harpo does something funny" For those of you who don't understand the legendary vaudevillian Marx Brothers we're very big on improv and in their movies there was often a blank page in the script that just had been sentenced "Harpo does something funny". Which essentially was put there to allow Harpo Marx to just do whatever came naturally because nobody could write for that man or really any of them but especially Harpo. Because he couldn't speak he just sort of would go crazy on set I kind of imagined that's what's happening in this movie at times. So much of Ryan Reynolds dialogue was probably just blank "Pikachu says a thing"

When my buddy and our brothers went and saw this, the part where Charizard started tearing up the equipment came on. Then suddenly, the power went out in the theater and then an evacuation alert went off. Luckily we got to go back to the Film 10 minutes rewound.

One time high school had like idk some type of talent show and this group went on stage and started singing the pokemon song, all audience of high schoolers joined in singing it with them. Was funny and nice moment. But when it ended and we were leaving back to classes, a fight between two girls broke out and it looked very aggressive and painful like they had to have had many buries and least one of em a black eye. It was a big school so I didn't see them and how they looked after that
