In 1982 I was 13 and lived within walking distance from the mall theater. I saw The Thing because it had JC's name in front of it and I knew I liked his movies. The first time I saw it I stayed put for a second look. I loved it! I went back a few more times in its short run. I recently showed my 16 year old daughter and she loved it too.

Tied with Alien as being my favorite horror film. A prime example of a story that was ahead of it's time, loathed upon release, eventually vindicated and now seen and regarded as one of the most terrifying and cinematic masterpieces ever made. John Carpenter's magnum opus. Long Live The Thing.
