I'm intrigued to hear more about this product. At the moment though, the presentation has left me with a hokey feeling. Similar to the Marshall CODE hype machine. Makes me nervous, but I hope to be wrong. I really love my ID14. Does the software run on windows as well? All I've seen in these videos were Apple logos. I'm not an Apple guy. I agree with the other comments about presentation here. Millennials need love too, but this demo came across like a couple of deer gazing into the headlights. I felt no confidence from them in the product. Reminded me of when I was 13, and got my first electric guitar(Les Paul Jr.) and POS amp(Gorilla). I threw on my vinyl copy of Freak Out and started making noise. I remember playing some of that noise for a mentor of mine who is 20 years my senior. He looked at me with a smile that surely hid something similar to what I'm feeling now. As a 48 year old man I would really love to see a confident, if not professional, play through of this product's features. That's just me though. If I'm going to pay... wait, how much is this again? I am hopeful though. Keep it coming, and thanks.

I love the interface design & that it has a valve combined with two notes functionality. But ! You should include a baby foot switch to change between stored cab sounds & the drive knob shouldn't affect the stored patch ? Can't fiddle when playing live so this is more suite for mobile recording or the studio.

Well its a good concept and offers lots of options for the price.. You get Top notch converters and if you can bypass the DSP and the 12ax7 section and use it as a normal interfaxe with your favorite VST (Bias, Nural, Amplitude etc,,,) and also use it live with your pedals without a pc going thro the Console...Or if you want to recreate your live pedal rig you can use it as a line with DSP and the tube section a for home recording (Onfortunatly you will need to commit to that sound if you use the later method cause there is no DI recorded) SPDIF, mic in and the rest..lots of options for 350 usd... The question is does this unot sounds good for a high gain guitar ripping a la Stevevai, Andy james etc with out a proper Amp sim thro the DSP mode? N one yet on the net tried that...All we got is low to medium grade Guitrist playing clean or crunch with basic student level skills..Send me one Audient for a proper shredd video demo... We have seen this before from Laney and the Iromheart Series of amps..The iron Heart is actualy an audio interface with an amp/preamp head..

I love my ID44 and the sound that i get with, but this unit that doesnt simulate the pre amp, is kind of a misleading thought that the title of the video shows, the idea of this seems a nice one, but you could still let us choose some options in the pre amp simulation area, it seems do not respond that well if the guitar had some active pickups, but i could be wrong. Thanks for the good products!
@Audientworld
@Audientworld 5 жыл бұрын
Sono uses a real High Voltage 12AX7 pre-amp so if you connect a guitar with high output active pickups you'll simply be driving the 12AX7 in the input stage a little harder and be getting a little more breakup just like with a valve guitar amplifier. Combine this with power amp simulation from Two Notes and you've got your whole guitar amp chain, pre-amp and power amp, in a desktop package.

Where do we have to plug guitar first? To Sono or to our own pedals? If i have to go to pedals first - I won't be able to record true DI, just effected DI without cab sim, right?
@NeZversSounds
@NeZversSounds 5 жыл бұрын
As it was all this time, use DI box to split a pedal signal from DI.
@Audientworld
@Audientworld 5 жыл бұрын
You can treat Sono just like the front end on a valve amplifier as that's essentially what it is. So plug your guitar into your pedals and and then run these into the Sono input. If you did want to record a completely clean DI as well, then you could use an external splitter as mentioned in the comments and feed the entirely clean signal into Sono's Line input. Otherwise, you could first record the clean tone, and then use Sono's re-amp output to run the clean tone through your pedal chain and then back into Sono's Guitar input.

@@Audientworld You know what? I love my iD14, but... this Sono concept is cool, but lacks a lot of features to be a really usefull and innovative. Why didn't you give us some sort of effect loop then? Guitar -> Sono JFET (to record true DI) -> Send to our pedalboard/preamp -> Return to built in cab simulation. Making effect loop is cheap. That way we will have a stage IR loader with built in interface, with built in reamping feature. We have hardware IR loaders in great price from Mooer. I can match Mooer Radar, split signal ang go with with my iD14 cheaper than Sono. Please consider consultations with users before making future products for guitarists, you have your FB group for this too. Best regards.

The Mic inputs would work perfectly for recording an acoustic guitar with a pair of microphones. The Valve stage, EQ and Cab simulation will only work on Input 1 however, so you wouldn't be able to apply these to both channels of your stereo signal.

It's like they took an iD14, slapped a stripped down sansamp to it, and thought a sansamp with cabinet modelling would be good enough. Frankly, I'm not sure why I'd get this when I can instead record with 64 samples of latency (which is very playable and can run on most laptops) and a decent amp sim. Combine that with the fact this thing is $450 and it would be cheaper to buy an iD14 and an amp sim, and chances are that will create better results for a larger variety of players. I have to say, I'm kinda disappointed in Audient here.
@digiscream
@digiscream 5 жыл бұрын
@@jamav5851 - but the point is...they're saying this is guitar amp modelling. It just plain isn't. And, from the sounds of it, it doesn't give anything like desirable guitar tones...in fact, it sounds exactly like a valve mic pre with a tone stack and a variable drive control (which is nothing like a guitar amp's preamp) with Wall of Sound III tacked on the end.
@pellevastano
@pellevastano 5 жыл бұрын
@@jamav5851 Basically everything digi said is how I feel about the tone. Essentially, this is the iD14 with a reamp output and a completely redesigned DI input. Theoretically, this could be a much better product if the priorities were shifted. I think we would be having a much different conversation if the tube preamp was replaced with a loadbox input, because then as a guitar player I'd have the ability to silently record my amp, which is a bigger problem for me than any latency that would be introduced via an amp sim (which is virtually non-existant at 64 samples of latency). Either way, I wanted to be excited for this product, and instead I am really disappointed.

@@Audientworld Would be a better product with a powercord, not a power supply. This goes for all soundcards. My next soundcard will be with a powercord, so that my life contains one LESS flimsy power supply. Can not understand why producers of high quality sound products rely on a flimsy external power supply with a tiny connector (is this to save $10?). Carl Martin even make stompboxes with a normal powercord, so it can be done, and I would pay more for a reliable live product.
