Their guitarist Hans Platz is a massive fantasy fan, especially LotR. His main band is the humorous German medieval metal group Feuerschwanz (translates to Fire Tail with the 100% intentional double meaning/ slang translation Fire Dick). It was founded in 2004 as a medieval folk parody band, Hans joined them in 2008 (under the stage name Hans der Aufrechte [Hans the Upright]). He made some covers of instrumental music from the Game of Thrones soundtrack on his youtube channel, supported by violinist Stephanie Pracht (joined Feuerschwanz in 2005 under the stage name Johanna von der Vögelweide [Joan of Birdswillow/ Joan of Screwmeadow], paying also the hurdy gurdy) and harpist Jenny Diehl. Jenny is one (of two) of Feuerschwanz' dancers/ stage & video performers (under the stage name Mieze Myu [KItty Myow]) and was guest musician with her harp on a few of their songs. He wanted to do a cover of Jenny of Oldstones too and was casually looking for a fitting vocalist. In 2020, Feuerschwanz asked (legend says based on a suggestion by Hans) Swiss Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum to do guest vocals on a cover song (Ding [Thing]) for the bonus disc of the limited deluxe edition of their album Das Elfte Gebot (The Eleventh Commandment). After filming the video, Melissa placed a bet with Hans, if Ding or the latest release by Ad Infinitum (Marching on Versailles) would reach the one million clicks on YT first. Hans won so he dared her to do the vocals for Jenny of Oldstones. He brought in Jenny with her harp, Melissa brought in her then boyfriend (now husband) Morten Løwe Sørensen for the drums (he is Danish, his main band is the, otherwise Swedish, melodic death metal/ symphonic metalcore group Amaranthe). After consulting with Feuerschwanz' manager, they sent the demo to Napalm Records (both Ad Infinitum and Feuerschwanz are signed there) and the response was kind of: "If you people are interested in recording an album like this, please sign the attached contract". The album containes three original songs: The Gates of Time, New Horizons feat. Fabienne Erni (from the melodic death metal/ folk metal band Eluveitie and the heavy metal/ hard rock band Illumishade) and First Light feat. Rusanda Panfili (classical violinist, featured on Double Trouble/ Lumos too and appears in it's video). Original version of "Legends Never Die", by the US pop rock band Against The Current, was the theme song for the 2017 League Of Legends World Championship. Original version of May It Be was the end credits song for LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring, by Irish new age singer/ songwriter Enya. Guest singer Charlotte Wessels is the former lead vocalist of the Dutch symphonic metal band Delain. Original version of If I Had A Heart was the 2008 debut single of the Swedish ambient electropop project Fever Ray (aka Karin Dreijer), a segment of it was used as the title music for the tv series Vikings (2013 - 2020). The Hanging Tree is from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, sung by actress Jennifer Lawrence. Feuerschwanz made a cover of Ed Sheeran's I See Fire, which was the end credits song for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

I’ve seen some mentions of The Warning in KZbin comments and on discord, just letting you know they released a new album on June 28th. These songs were all very good.

Have you heard the 2 new Deep Purple songs?

@@TeamWolfySoupy since we enjoyed the first one we heard (the one we did a reaction to) I think at this point we'll just wait until the album comes out and do a reaction to the whole thing!

@@PatrickMusilek Now that I've heard it, I can confidently tell you that the producer was listening to 72 Seasons on repeat during the entire process of making this album. Hi-hat aside, I don't think you'd be disappointed.
