I've originally left this suggestion on the Discord, but I would love to see a Black Sabbath reaction. I also saw Patrick mention Judas Priest which I would love to see you react to as well. Both bands basically had the same early history of being born and raised from the slums of Burmingham, England and both bands have seen their fair share of ups and downs. Unlike Judas Priest though, Black Sabbath has seen many more lineup changes especially with all the unique singers ranging from Ozzy, to Dio, even to Ian Gillan. I'd love to see what you think about both bands.

patrick, you're 100% correct with your observation that a lot of people really like their metal to sound relatively 'unpolished' and natural. and of course that goes even further with stuff like black metal and more crossover-y hardcore-influenced metal, etc. it's clear that that's not specifically what you look for in music, but i hope your appreciation for that kind of sound will grow...!

If you want to hear melodies in the solos, listen to Youthanasia. That album is full of memorable melodies with the riffs and solos and vocals.

you should pick more megadeth songs you hit a few big ones but they have many more great songs, also you mentioned Judas Priest that would be awesome

Megadeth has jazz undertone, most albums are melodious. metallica is completely different. megadethg is state-of-the-art thrash metal band. if you think some part oftheirs sound like metallica, tells me that you havent heard or understood metal enough. maybe react to Nu-metal and alt-rock and leave early stuff.

Megadeth sucks on doesn't suck at the same time. Especially some of their most popular songs are the cringiest and they play them live. But I have dozens of banger Megadeth tracks on my playlist.

I think you guys should really do some Pantera! They changed the course metal for the 90's, it's hard to find a band that was not influenced by Pantera after Cowboys From Hell and Vulgar Display Of Power. Dimebag is considered one of the greatest guitarists and Phil Anselmo's vocals were quite groundbreaking as well. Pantera's mixing and production may not be considered "great", but it's arguably a large factor in what makes them themselves. Especially with Dimebag's guitar tone.

the Megadeth re-masters are awful. They have no reason for existing.

I LOVE the production of the original Peace Sells album. It was the best Megadeth ever sounded on tape in my opinion. And the rawness is such a cool thing. I love recordings where you can hear those little thigs like pedal switches and fingers sliding on the strings.

Patrick i feel the album you would enjoy the most from Megadeth is Youthanasia. Its the most melodic album in the discography. BUT Dave still sounds like Dave lol
