Sugano-san was also the key writer for a Japanese audiophile magazine called Stereo Sound. The image of him you showed had his audiophile system sitting behind.

Jazz Analog Premium Collection is for me the best label. I bought 3 Coltrane and the quality is just amazing. There is also Project Re:Vinyl and Three Blind Mice but Jazz Analog Premium Collection is by far the best quality

When I was a kid in the 1980s, I had a chance to visit the Ampex factory with my uncle in Redwood, California. I remember seeing one of the machines featured in your video (but didn't know what it was) and their amazing factory. BTW, Ampex Records was one of the audiophile labels in the 1970s.

Before end of WW2 USA had no idea about the existence of tape recorders and when the first Magnetophon machines came to USA it was pretty fast, first the machines succeed in broadcasting and record companies and few years later came consumer tape recorders and some years later the first video machine that could record without any interruption. Fun thing, they didn't develop a special reel for smaller consumer tape recorders, but used the existing 8 mm home movie reels. Also there were attempts for a cassette system, Saba and RCA did nearly the same, two small reels into a housing to make preparation easier.

I wish there were a site to get these JPN released liner notes as English downloads. The best i can do now (thankfully) is use my camera/google translate to read the liners. That works, but prefer to have a English insert inside - what am i gonna do when i get so old and grumpy that I can’t be bothered with using my phone and holding it steady enough for it to translate ;)

Good job, guys, but... What about Triangle (sub label of Audio Lab Records)...? What about special series High Grade Sound (not only all 45RPM and 78RPM releases were released in this series, but also three 33RPM reissues)? For example, on my opinion, The Dialogue sounds best in this sereies. By the way, if you like piano - Kunihiko Sugano's series "The World of Kunuhiko Sugano" (5 releases) is "must have" for you...15 minutes is too short for ALR. I'm waiting for the ALR. Part2! ;)

The black dots on your turntable that say 33, 45, 78, what do they do? How might one use them?
@anadialog

I actually don't know, I looked and searched for this but I didn't find any answer. My guess is that they give access to the motor to regulate the related speed.

You probably pop off the cap and with a proper screw driver you regulate the speed, down below inside.
