Derfunkmeister I remember Peter making a statement to the same effect back in the early 90's in hifi world, he's been proved right.

Mr. Qvortrup has a unique sense of humor and definitely an appreciation of workmanship. I particularly liked his comment about cars becoming more of a fashion accessory . . . and I would also add a status symbol. I was always told that even Marcedes Benz latest models had degenerated into a much lesser quality component . . . and were even being made outside of Germany. Translate all of this in to audio, or any commodity for that matter, and again you will find people more obsessed with a logo/brand for status and snobbery -- than for the sheer beauty and craftsmanship bringing with it durability and dependability as a driving factor.
