Peter is so right! The #1 purpose of recorded music is that we can go back in time and re-live older eras, and experience talent that has long gone from the planet. It should be the industry's top priority to keep compatibility on the long run - if they create the habit to break with the past, then the future will keep on breaking with them and what is recorded today will be just as outdated and thrown to the long forgotten bin 50 years from now.

I was into audio for 3yrs quite extensively and now after months after finding ur channel and one more ( real world audio) I can say I was being fooled by the audio industry, I just had a question for u brother, why do u use tweeters instead of horn, I would like to hear ur opinion. Thanks 🙏 , I will be always grateful to u guys and anyone can get till hear if u keep trying and it took years for me and im not the smartest guy ( failed college in 2nd yr)

Peter talked about quite a few of the things here in previously recorded interviews. Albeit, this was still very informative and entertaining to watch. I wish we would have heard more on the topic of field coils. Problem with AN is that there are generally too many things to talk about: the new TT3 half ref., the legend (amps and pre), belt-drive transport, discreet DAC - just to name a few. Looks like we’ll have lots of exiting products to look forward to in the (hopefully) not too distant future! THANK YOU for making this available!

When you consider brands like Audio Note (Peter Qvortrup), Pass Labs (Nelson Pass) and Decware (Steve Deckert), their philosophies are built around presenting a musical experience for the listener and from a design perspective, simplicity.

One response to the comment at 1:09:00. The Woodstock festival in 1969 had an audience of half a million people, and the PA system used all tube amplifiers. The very limited stage monitoring used solid state amps, but the JBL based speakers for the audience were all tube powered.

The jumbled timing resulting from multi microphone recording, has been well-understood since the dawn of stereo, that's why coincident microphone techniques like X-Y, M/S and Blumlein were developed. A further development was the ORTF pattern, which spreads the left and right microphones to recreate the same left to right timing difference you get from the different distances between the left and right ears of a live listener. This reintroduces the left to right channel phase differences, which are an essential part of how human hearing works. A dummy head is the ultimate extension of this thinking, although they usually work best when you listen over headphones.

I met Mr. Qvortrup in the eighties and bought an Audio innovation amp, Snell speakers and Elite Roc Still sounds great 40 years on.

As a scientist the Peter may be right but as a not rich man i can't sadly afford yet his stuff to verify what he is saying. All i know is my own experience in the low tier of audio equipement and sadly it doesn't always shows the Single ended triode as the winner. But i'm eager to learn, anybody knows where i can go and listen to those amazing stuff ?

Some people give the sound reproduction of music more importance over the actual music. They spend enormous sound of money on the audio equipment. Probably vanity and an obsession in seeking status.
